We have stayed at both of these beautiful accommodations and loved every minute. The views are to die for and even though the Keep will always hold a special place in our heart, the Lighthouse's sitting room on the top floor is perfect for anytime of year. We always have the best sleep and the showers are wonderful. If you... More

A lovely place for watching the sea birds dive and congregate on rocks far away as far-off in the distance aeroplanes line up to land in windy Wellington. Other reviewers have remarked that the lighthouse is for backpackers and we'd agree with that assessment. With refurbishment and a lick of paint this could be made more ship-shape and Bristol-fashioned. As... More

We stayed for one night in the Lighthouse during our visit to New Zealand in January. I was really excited to be staying in a lighthouse and it lived up to my expectations. I was worried about the parking as I could see from the photos that there is a road between the sea and the lighthouse. In fact there... More

We are SO thrilled that we stayed at The Keep. It was entirely unique, as narrow as it looks, yet spacious enough for 2 of us. When we arrived it was pouring rain -- but it was magical that way. The sound of the rain on the tin roof was beautiful. By the next day, the clouds had lifted and... More

What a great little pad Perfect for our last night in Wellington and would love to have stayed longer. I highly recommend it as a get-away spot to chill out, watch the waves, boats, planes and birds. We loved it. Lots of walking and exploring up the City to Sea Track and along the foreshore. We didn't use it as... More

We went for my husband's birthday! We loved it! The sound of the ocean, the unique accommodation, the planes passing the boats sailing by the beach walk it was a awesome experience. We recommend to everybody. The breakfast supplies very impressive. Even slept better than I do at home. Thank you Bruce for creating such a experience.

Last year for my birthday we stayed a night at The Lighthouse - this year we chose The Keep. The Keep has rustic decor (as one might expect from a keep) with basic kitchen and bathrooms (as one might expect in a keep) but is entirely comfortable and cosy. Bruce had nipped in and turned on all the heaters, so... More

I stayed at the Keep, rather than the Lighthouse, and I was very pleased with my stay there. I had never lived in a tower before. One room per level - constructed of board and batten macrocarpa, with of course, a stone exterior. The mid level is the living area, and in addition to bread, butter, and marmalade, I found... More

We stayed here for our anniversary and loved it. Close to home but felt like getting away. We loved the quirky style, the views, spa bath and breakfast provisions. Nice surprise of chocolates and bubble bath. Definitely be back for a weekend,

My husband and I stayed in the lighthouse in Feb 2015. It took us a while to find it since it was hidden in a row of houses while we assumed it to be little more secluded. Nevertheless, the place is really funky..it has a small kitchen facility first floor, a small bedroom in the second and the third has... More
