We stayed in the country cottage near the Waikato River. You can have a swim from a platform built directly on the river. It is magic pure. The owners are very helpful and friendly. There are lots of things you can do if you choose this place for a base. The thermal areas are very near and so are Taupo...

We stayed in the self contained cottage at Aultmore for two nights at what was the peak season in Taupo. Of all of the accommodation we looked at, Aultmore seemed affordable, peaceful and easily accessible and we were pleased to find that it absolutely exceeded our expectations. The drive from Taupo only took roughly 15 minutes and it was fantastic...

This was a tucked away rural location with only the birdsong audible as we were away from busy roads, yet still close enough to both Taupo and for Rotorua (within approx 40 mins). Very clear directions were provided for us.The accommodation was a separate part of the house which made it very private and comfortable like our own log cabin...

Aultmore is tucked away in beautiful grounds designed as a mini arboretum and the property backs onto the river. We elected one night to bring in a takeaway and have it with a bottle of wine in the barbecue area overlooking the river watching the sun go down - how civilised can you get? Accommodation is really a suite with...

We found this place as a last minute resort for accommodation while attending the heart/foreigner concert. Never stayed in a B&B before but from receiving the confirmation email, excellent instructions on" how to find us" , superb hosts, the experience was amazing. We were treated like a King and Queen. With the beautiful gardens, river at your door, birds chirping,...

The location is in the middle of a great garden and close to waikato river. We had our own little appartment for 1 week and enjoyed the BBQ close to the river. Our host Mike gave us every day plenty of ideas what to do and to see in the grate Taupo Region.

Aultmore is a beautiful B&B about 20km north of Taupo. I wish we had had a day just to enjoy the property! The gardens are beautiful and it is right on the river (which we were told is quite warm and pleasant to swim in). The room itself is actually more like your own little apartment, with a bedroom, sitting...

We stayed here for 2 nights In Feb . It's a charming place to stay for visiting Taupo and its beautiful lake(this takes about 15-20 mins in car with detailed directions from our hosts Mike and Julia) or to see plenty of other local attractions in the area eg the dramatic Huka Falls and a little further afield the fascinating...

We stayed at the self catering cottage, welcomed by Mike who had a vast amount of knowledge of the area and things to do. The location was very peaceful, with lovely well kept gardens. A hammock and sitting area overlooking the river to chill out next to. There was access to the river and a wooden bench to sit down...

Our B&B near Taupo was very good value. The self-catering accommodation is in a separate building from the main house. It was roomy but a little tired, with a large living room, kitchen and smallish bedroom and bathroom. It had a beautiful garden and is situated next to the river. You can swim there, but it was a little cold...
