Relax in modern and stylish surroundings with friendly hosts who will cater to your needs. Katherine and Steve are 'locals' having lived in the area over 25 years and are both born and bred New Zealanders. Both have worked in tourism/hospitality for several years. Steve is a true local, having grown up on a farm near by.Each of the rooms has a private en suite bathroom with walk in shower, toilet and vanity, tv and dvd player, luxury linens, robes and slippers, safe and luggage rack and a most importantly a comfortable super king sized bed.Home baking and refreshments are available self serve 24/7. There is a indoor and outdoor seating area near by the guest rooms. Katherine loves to bake so there is always something delicious to nibble on.You are welcome to bring a light meal or take aways home. There are plates, glasses, cutlery in which you are welcome to use. Otherwise, Katherine is happy to prepare you a delicious meal. This may be as simple as a sandwich or a full three course dinner - Beef barbecued steak to Japanese Curry - just let her know what you would like. Prior dinner reservations are helpful otherwise you will have a limited choice. Situated across the road from Lake Rotorua you are provided with views of the lake and Mokoia Island. In the back ground - the hills of Mt Tarawera and the city lights.Walk 500m the the famous Redwood forest and Hamurana Springs track. Both are amazing. The forest is make up of large Sequoia trees and a beautiful clear stream flowing from the spring out into the lake. Several types of birds and ducks live in this area as do of course our famous trout. You cannot buy trout in NZ - you must catch your own!Lake Rotorua is famous for trout fishing, but in our area also famous for having hundreds of 'black swans'. A 'country' 9 hole golf course is located alongside the springs walk - we have golf clubs available for those wanting to play a round.Family groups are welcome at the home of Katherine and Steve. They have two senior school aged children. There are games and books to entertain and a big front lawn to run about on. Only well behaved children can be accepted - children that will not disturb other guests in the night - otherwise a full house booking (all four rooms) is available.

Loved our two nights at Spring water Lodge. Great spot from walking 200 meters to the lake, going to the Kiwi center, visiting the buried village and having dinner at Stratosfare. Amazing full English breakfast cooked to order, and a hospitality setup for all these including nd wines, coffee and tea. Best part no sulphur smell.

Janice and Jeff gave us a warm welcome and from the start nothing was too much trouble ,including hunting through cupboards to find a her wheat heat bag to ease my very sore back. The breakfasts were very social events all nationalities sharing their experiences in New Zealand. The location was great for visiting the popular sites in Rotorua and Jeff’s knowledge and advice of the area very helpful. Step outside the front door and a peaceful easy walk down by the lake was a great way to end the day. On your return in the evening Janice would provide fresh bake cookies or cake and tea and coffee or a glass of wine were all complimentary. A fabulous stay.

Janice and Jeff make you immediately feel welcome and comfortable in their large and cozy lodge, with views from the garden over beautiful lake Rotorua. While 10 mins away by car from the nearest shops and restaurants, Janice and Jeff offer you complimentary wine, beer or soft drinks and prepare a hot breakfast of your choice, together with freshly ground coffee. The rooms are quiet and comfortable, each with an en-suite bathroom. Overall we had an excellent stay and highly recommend staying here.
