The 3rd lodge in our luxury lodge tour of New Zealand, one can't help but compare. From the moment we reached the gate to enter Treetops we knew it wasn't to the standard of The Farm at Cape Kidnappers or Huka Lodge. The driveway further confirmed this with potholes the whole way (lucky we were in a rental car....). The... More

Treetops Lodge almost gave me the impression of being in Africa. The lodge is beautifully appointed with gorgeous rich woods, high vaulted ceilings, and zebra stripe upholstered chairs in the main lobby. Make sure you do a Treetops Estate tour as you will encounter cape buffalo, varieties of deer, wild rabbits, and lots of other native habitat.

Treetops was an amazing surprise of an experience. From the warm arrival to the succulent food and the huge (and I mean huge) suites you feel pampered from start to finish. We did a lovely waterfall hike with champagne and that was lovely. Relaxing in the suite by the fire was super cozy and the staff was always there to... More

Treetops Lodge and Estate fulfils its motto ‘where nature meets luxury’. If you want to experience natural NZ bush with an array of native trees and birds, and you enjoy luxury, then this is the place for you. The Lodge is secluded but accessible; the exterior architecture is well designed for its setting and combines beautiful natural products of slate,... More

Wow ! What an experience. We rented a car and drove here so we could check out the city of Rotorua and nearby attractions. I recommend doing that otherwise you are stuck and it's a bit of a drive up to get here. But once you do it is incredible! Very cool experience. We had a beautiful cottage with fireplace... More

The PERFECT place for a getaway. Service is top-notch, and the setting is exquisite. Having dinner here is a must - they have very talented chefs. The main lodge is so lovely, and it's a pleasure to relax with a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing. One warning: while there is wifi in the main building, there is... More

This lodge is hidden within a 2500 Acre estate. We received a beautiful and very well equipped villa with a very large lounge and a large bedroom. The style is very country with a lot of wood. Views are terrific, service impeccable. Because of the size of the estate guests are driven to the main cottage or need to take... More

Went here with a few friends and stayed in the self serving cottage. I felt as though we were intruding much of the time because we weren't in the "full service" cabins. The food was to die for and breakfast (while expensive) was the best breakfast we've ever had. We splurged on a food tour / cooking class but was... More

We had a had a good time because the state is beautiful, but we did a mistake choosing the cottage to stay. They treat it as a different product and don't clean it properly and not even even send bath robes there though it is still very expensive.
