This is a wonderful hotel on the lake outside of Rotorua and the rooms were very pretty. My problem with the rooms that we had was that they were right off the courtyard leading to the parking lot so even though the porch with fireplace might have been pleasant to sit out on to enjoy the views, it would not...

We were extremely pleased with the eloquent finishings, accommodations and overall attention to detail. The dining experience, for both breakfast and dinner was exceptional. The staff and service is second to none. We highly recommend The Black Swan as a romantic, intimate getaway.

We all know this saying, but rarely experience the true meaning. We had a long journey, and felt delighted to arrive at this lakeside hotel. Then we saw all the dead trout flies, on the pillows, copious dead flies in the door ways, on the dressing table underneath the music centre, one it goes on. The disgusting yellow stained pillows....

The staff were exceptionally knowledgeable, thoughtful and entertaining. When my wife fell and hurt her knee the proprietor was able to suggest a wonderful and less stressful alternative to one of our originally scheduled outings. The on-site helipad allows very special jaunts to famous sites direct from the B&B..

We were really looking forward to our stay but it was extremely disappointing and not worth the money. We arrived early as our journey was much quicker than expected. We met Arthur the owner/manager and were able to check in, but our room was not ready which was fine but we asked if we could get some coffee but told...

We chose this for its location and access to locations. Initially, very impressed with the location and ground which are beautiful but unfortunately, the interior standard and service woefully failed to meet the price point. The room had issues ranging from poorly applied wallpaper, badly fitted fire alarms, no duvet cover (just a sheet) to bath towels better suited as...

The service we received during our stay was exceptional which made our stay so memorable. The rooms and furnishings were of a high quality. When we returned to our room each night there was a little teddy bear snuggled up in the bed!!

Arriving at this beautiful bed and breakfast was a wonderful way to end a long drive from Auckland. The property is on the lakefront and there is a small private beach area, helipad, large lawn with large shaded loungers, two hot tubs in the grotto, and small pier where the black swans swim around. The White Island helicopter tour pilot...

Beautiful setting, large comfortable rooms with shower and a bathtub. Fantastic breakfast cooked by the young lady chef. Poached fruit (pears and tamarillo) muesli and yoghurt to die for. Menu said "Order what you like or order all of it". Well worth a visit.

First class stopover. And I don't need to repeat the comments and opinions of all the five star reviewers who have gone before. The good things about the Black Swan are very noticeable. Noticeably good welcome, noticeably good food, and even noticeably good plumbing. The same could be said for lots of small things, complimentary drinks and cakes in the...
