We stayed at Blossom Cottage for 2 days initially and had to extend to another day due to some emergency. Marianne was so kindly accommodating and even gave us discount, rescuing us from an almost ruined holiday, to which I feel very grateful for! As a city dweller, we truly enjoyed watching the sun rise by the horizon, feeding the animals, and though the WiFI was not working when we stayed, I thought it was a blessing in disguise to be completely unplugged. We now have an unforgettable family holiday memories and I sure will bring my family back one day :)
we had a great time. my son enjoyed spending time with the animals and feeding them. the open area was great for running around and the views fantastic. it was quiet and peaceful and only a short drive to Rotorua centre and all the nearby attractions. will definitely be staying again.
Thank you Marianne for the beautiful hospitality Love the location love the views and absolutely peaceful🥰 Beautiful welcome with chocolate brownies we will definitely come again Thank you very much :)
A long overdue tribute to Marianne's fine home. This B&B is a place full of heart, soul and character. Perfect for young families and friends who love the quiet, simple, beautiful countryside and want the fun, joys and rural yet modern experience of a farmstay. It is a heartwarming, eclectic cottage, farm, bungalow and retreat house all rolled into one. If you are looking at a very serene rustic homestay with an array of farm animals to feed, pet and love, a B&B where the eggs you cook come directly collected from the henhouse, this place cannot be more authentic. It's a DIY breakfast you get to whip up with dairy and ingredients provided eg. the best smoked bacon is provided, and the amounts do depend on how many people stay. We loved the spa tub, the bbq possibility but it was too cold to try those outdoors. Loved the warmth of the electric heater beds tho the mattress and pillows were a tad tired. International Queen sized bed sits in one room, and 2 twin beds, both rooms are not ensuite. Standing shower was clean and functional, with some toiletries provided. Heater available if turned on. The nice touches were the sweet hors d'voures provided to welcome us at arrival, the orientation we had from our lovely host Marianne, the warmest greetings we received in the form of loud moos, clucking, bleeting and some alpaca spitting (haha!) were very welcoming. While this place is rather deep in and out of the usual town or main street, it is well positioned between town (20min away) and Hot Water Beach. We loved the tranquility of this place and our children learnt to ride a 2 wheel vintage bicycle on the beautiful sprawling soft grass garden that broke their every fall (perfect place to learn!). The trampoline, swing, trikes, table tennis table and yard full of toys and amenities kept our kids real happy busy! Thank you for the wonderful heartwarming experience that made our holiday just so memorable, I still look back to with such fondness. We do wish Marianne all the warmth and support, and thank her for all the heartfelt efforts in singlehandedly keeping this farm home up and open to privileged guests like us, and mostly, how amazing she is to continue to keep the memory of her late husband alive in this way. ♡…
We had a lovely stay here. It was ideal for our two toddlers, who enjoyed feeding the animals and collecting eggs. The outdoor hot tub was a definite highlight for all of us. Marianne was lovely and welcoming, and left us the most delicious brownies to enjoy. Would happily stay again.
