I have to give 3 dots based on the lovely hosts. But this is definitely a budget option. The bed was very comfortable and the linen fresh. The sofa wasn't comfortable, and there was no tray to cook anything in the oven. It's on a busy road, but I wear earplugs so never an issue. If you are driving out...

After a hard day at Hobbiton we relaxed at the Hideaway with a bbq and cold drinks in a beautiful setting overlooking the garden. The hosts were terrific with awesome advice on what to do and where to get the best dinner for our bbq. The lodges were comfortable and the relaxing atmosphere made it a great night's stop.

We arrived early at the Rotorua Hideway Lodge but were greeted warmly by Fiona and Chris. We had a lovely chat for a while (they're English too) and they gave us some great ideas for things to do around the area. Our room was lovely and clean and the beds were really comfortable, which was much appreciated after a number...

Our group of 18 people of 4 families with 8 adults and 10 children (age 5 to 12) stayed here in 4 family rooms for 2 nights in December. The room was small...but got everything we needed. Furniture was a bit dusty though. The owners responded efficiently and effectively to our emails. The children's playground was awesome and the kids...

Fully equipped kitchen, stove/oven. Lounge dining, porch out front to watch the kids play. Queen bed with ensuite. Bedrooms back onto main road but we didn't hear the traffic. Flat TV on...

This is the second time we have stayed and we loved it. Fiona and Chris do an amazing job of looking after us. It was our Christmas with family and after dinner we returned to find Christmas Lights and Tree in/around our unit. There was so much to do for our wee grandson - he had an amazing time playing...

We had the most wonderful experience staying at the Hideaway Lodge with our two children (ages 7 and 8) last week. Owners Fiona and Chris greeted us like family with a bottle of fresh milk for our afternoon tea and a detailed overview of the Rotorua area and all of the activities that it has to offer, including some "insider...

The hideaway lodge is aptly named. Conveniently located near all attractions and city center. The lodge is well maintained and has a nice little park. My kid enjoyed the play area in the park. We loved the location as it was quiet and relaxing after a long drive.

Room was comfortable, clean with all necessary amenities. Had the weather been kinder we would have enjoyed using the little deck for our evening drink or morning coffee. The exercise area for dogs was just wonderful and although it is on the main highway there was minimal traffic noise
