The manager, Barbara, was very efficient and helpful. We were given an upgraded room which was very clean and comfortable as were the bathroom facilities. We had a balcony from which there were beautiful views of the coast. Local cruises can be booked through the hotel, to include hotel pickup, which is very useful. It is possible (for the energetic)...

Thanks to Barbara for lovely stay in Paihia at Pearl of The Bay. Great views from balcony. She was very helpful generally - booking tours and in particular in 'the Case of The lost Camera' (which remains lost).

Dear Anne Marie & Gerry Thank you, for taking the time to post a review. I am sorry you lost your camera on your trip to Cape Reinga. We generally, find things are handed in somewhere and if it turns up I am sure it will find its way back to you both. In the meantime, keep playing that guitar...

We really enjoyed staying in pearl of bay. The apartment is huge, clean with everything you need. We wish we could have stayed for longer. From our balcony you had the best view on the beach. It was quiet and peaceful. You have to walk for about 10 to 15 minutes to go to the center but that was not...

Originally we booked for three nights but added an extra night and glad we did. As other reviewers have said there is a bit of a walk to the centre of Paihia but its really not too difficult at all. Barbara is really helpful with advice and help about what the area has to offer. Great facilities including gas barbecues...

Thank you Mark & Kate, I really appreciate the positive review. What a lot of guests often say to me is, we were glad we stayed over the hill, away from the hustle and bustle. There are pros and cons to every situation, but our location does give us quiet and views. It gives our guests a little bit of...

We stayed here over the New Year period and it was lovely. V clean, extremelY comfortable beds, everything we needed for our stay. We used to take the walk along the beach into Paihia which was great and took about 15 mins. Russell is worth a visit and the Waitangi treaty grounds were excellent with a fantastic museum. Thank you...

Thank you Karen, the beach walk from the motel is lovely and as you say does not take long. So proud that the beach you can see from our rooms, was featured in the current Air New Zealand safety video. A very welcoming and comfortable stay at the Pearl of the Bay. Rooms were a great size for a family of four with teenagers to spread around and a full kitchen which was fantastic. Couldn't fault the cleanliness of the unit and was always lovely to come back to each day. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

We spent a couple of nights at this wonderful hotel last September. The host was fantastic and had helped us with a number of ideas and local know-how in order to maximise our stay. The room was wonderful with heaps of space for our children to play. There was also a video library (free loans) which was also a great...

We stayed at Pearl of the Bay in Paihia for 2 nights when travelling round New Zealand. We were warmly greeted by Barbara the manager and shown to our rooms. She gave us tips on what to do and where to go which was useful. The accommodation was decent, providing us with all the essentials, including fresh milk on request...

The room was a great size and in a good location. It wasn't right in the middle of all the restaraunts so you didn't hear any late night noise, but it was only a 5 min walk to the beach! We had a wonderful 2 night stay.
