A little drive out of Paihai towards the North. Great location with amazing view (country and water views). A little run down and unloved especially grounds. Staff very helpful organizing tours for us.

My husband and I stayed here, this was our second stay here, we stayed here a couple of years ago and we loved it, its so quiet all you hear are the birds chirping, and the view, wow what a view what more could you want. The hosts are absolutely wonderful and very helpful. The room was great that we... More

Brilliant place to chill out. A little out of town but this is an added bonus, you don't get the noise from the bars and restaurants. Wish we could have stayed longer. Hosts are amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend to everyone!

We stayed two nights at Cooks Lookout, warmly welcomed and cared for by Norm & Shelagh. Apart from their excellent hospitality and assistance on all things domestic and local (and Norm's great sense of humour!) we were hugely impressed by the location of the individual accommodation units, offering as they do absolutely outstanding views over Paihia to Russell and beyond... My partner, child & I have just had 3 nights at Cook's Lookout. We just loved it, & wished we'd had more time. It has stunning views, & only a super quick trip to town but sufficiently far away from the main hustle & bustle to be serene & relaxing. The other two enjoyed time on the tramp & in... More

I have been treated like a family member and nothing is too much hassle with pick up and drop off in town a real added bonus. The Bay of Islands... More

Travelled around NZ as a couple and a friend so two rooms were required at all stops. Cook's Lookout provided one of the best places we stayed in throughout our three week trip through both islands. The apartment was supplied with everything we needed, with the views being a bonus. OK so it's couple of minutes drive to access Paihia... More

Truely a hidden Gem, not for the fussy, but true getaway and thoroughly a hidden paradise... will recommend to all my friends. We were welcomed and instantly felt at ease and amazed by the top studio view we stayed in.
