Owners were very welcoming. Room clean and quiet. We stayed three nights. Cooked in every evening. Enjoyed breakfast on our deck. Location is not in town, but we considered that a plus. I loved this place. Senior couple from the USA

We had a wonderful stay at Cooks Lookout. It's up on the hill with amazing views across to Russell and the Waitangi Treaty grounds. Norm and Sheila were so helpful, advising us where to go and what to see. The children loved ending the day with a swim in the warm pool and us adults enjoyed a glass of wine...

We really enjoyed our stay at Cooks Lookout. The owners, Norm and Shelagh, are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. They organised everything we wanted to do efficiently and quickly. The suite was clean, comfortable and well equipped and had a fantastic view. The heated pool was very welcome after a day out sight seeing. We would highly recommend Cooks Lookout.

Good clean accommodation , room located by pool which was beautifully warm n kept clean. Location is a little way out of town, so to save you driving n be able to enjoy a beer, Norm the host will run you into town in the evening with a wry sense humour n good strory to tell on the way!! Our...

We decided to stay over in Paihia and found this gem. Norm and Sheila have a beautiful Motel situated high on a hill with a gorgeous view of the Bay of Islands. Our rooms, number 12, were sparkling clean and beautifully decorated, from the lovely tile bathroom, to the lace curtains. Sheila kindly provided us with a couple of extra...

My partner and I stayed at this wonderful motel for only 1 night, we both wished it could have been longer. When we decided to head into town for a meal our fantastic host gave us a lift right to the doorstep of where we decided to go (had some great dining advice too). This was a complimentary service. Whilst...

We were lucky and probably had the best room in the place - room 3 (see picture). Fully equipped, with everything we needed. Although there were no flyscreens, we were not bothered by any insects, and believe me when I say that if there is anything out there that is biting it will bite me. You really need a hire...

We stayed 3 nights at Cooks Lookout in peak season over the North American Christmas break January 2017 (Summer Holidays in New Zealand). Firstly, this is a Motel- and a perfect 5 star one. If you're looking for the Ritz Carleton, or a big new boutique hotel experience, you're not going to find that here or anywhere in Paihia. This...

Room was great. Had requested a certain room and our host (owner) Norm saved it for us even though the booking was made six months in advance. He also provided us with well directed sights to be seen. Room had complete kitchen and grocery shipping just down the hill. One thought I might add for visitors to New Zealand. The...

Recently stayed at the Cook's Lookout motel in Paihia, and we have to say it was amazing. Paihia town is just minutes down the road from the motel. Norm und his wife were super friendly and helpful. The view from the room was breathtaking. Our room was very private, and we could actually watch the Bay during sunset and sunrise...
