I moved to this hostel after spending my first night next door at base.. this yha is cheaper and cleaner. Free Wi-Fi all day/night. A lovely outdoor seating area, friendly reception. Clean kitchen. Didn't use the lounge area so I can't comment on that. Bedrooms were OK, not many charging points for everyone to use. Beds were comfortable.

I spent nearly 3 month in this hostel. The manager (Andy) was very friendly and helpful, I able to stay in the same room for the whole stay. The hostel had a really friendly, chilled atmosphere with a great outdoor area. The kitchen was clean and well-stocked. Great location, not far from the beach and close to shops and restaurants....

Because of the busy season I spent one night at a 8 bedroom dorm and 2 nights at a 4 bedroom dorm. Both were super clean and it felt like home. The staff was really helpfull and friendly. Too bad I have to leave this place already, but I certainly will come back!

Our family of five usually enjoys staying in a YHA when we are on holiday but not this time. The 'chalet' was basic, with a poorly maintained ensuite with blocked basin, in pretty scruffy condition. The kitchen was busy and well used but not very well supplied with utensils, only about 3 tea towels in sight and no dishcloths at...

4 bed dorm was a good size, with a modern bathroom (sink was too small) clean and the bunk beds were comfy enough. Kitchen a bit small but large dining area outside created a good atmosphere. Staff were mostly friendly and helpful apart from one girl cleaning who was rude when she couldn't clean the bathroom as I was using...

My friend and I spent two nights in a four-bedroom dorm with ensuite and really enjoyed our stay. The manager was very friendly and helpful, we weren't able to stay in the same room for the first night, but he re-arranged to get us together for the second night. The hostel had a really friendly, chilled atmosphere, with a great...

The location of the hostel is great, walking distance to a lot of restaurants, bars and shops. Andy was amazing and went above and beyond to help us book activities, gave recommendations and made sure we were satisfied with everything. The hostel was clean and we made several friends while there. I would definitely stay there again!

We've stayed for one night in a quadruple room. The room was small but very confortable, especially consodering the low price. We've had a problemi with one of our luggages and the stuff was extremely kind and helpfull in finding a solution.

I had an eight person room for my two nights in Paihia and could not have been more disappointed. The bunk beds were built in a way that gave almost no clearance (maybe 30 cm from bottom to top bunk) so I was constantly hitting myself on the other bunk when I tried to get up. There was only one...

Stayed for three nights after arriving to Paihia. The bedrooms were clean and the staff was very nice, but those were the only good things. Walking down the road with all the hostels, they all looked fun and exciting and it was very underwhelming seeing YHA's faded sign at the end of the street! The kitchen was never clean looking...
