We stayed here in winter and this beautiful home is cosy as well as beautifully appointed. Our bed was super comfy and the bathroom large. Our hosts, Phillip and Rayma, are just so friendly and welcoming. If you find yourself in Napier, make sure you don't miss a stay at Cobden Garden Homestay.

A wonderfully comfortable room complete with jacuzzi and friendly hosts make this a great place to stay and the view from its lofty position above Napier is good. The breakfast was excellent. Walking into Napier would not be difficult but the walk back could be a challenge.

We stayed two nights in the Ahuriri room. This is a large comfortable room with great views across Napiers Westshore. The en-suite has a spa bath and walk in shower plus twin basins. Our hosts invited us for drinks on the balcony in the early evening which was a nice touch and made it feel as though you were at... More

Phillip and Rayma were excellent hosts. We were invited to join them for drinks and canapes at 6.30pm to chat and meet the other guests. This was a highlight for us from all the B&B's we stayed in. There was also port in our room after returning from dinner, although the canapes were so delicious one evening we were not... More

Enjoyed four nights here during the Art Deco Weekend. Rayma and Philip offer genuine friendliness to their guests. The breakfasts are very tast and offer everything you could want for. The evening get-togethers over a bottle of local wine are also a treat. Some people may find the location a bit too far from the centre of town (only 5... More

We stayed for 2 nights on our NZ trip good sized room, no AC, but a fan. The accommodation is on a hill and a fair hike up and down if u walk. Taxis are cheap though and we did both. Nice touch by Phil and Rayma was an evening get together for all guests which we really enjoyed as... More

Phillip and Rayma were excellent hosts - the room was large and very comfortable with a large well equipped bathroom. We enjoyed great breakfasts and a chat over a glass of wine and canapés before we headed out for dinner. There was also a nightcap in our room on our return! You should be aware that Cobden is a short... More

We stayed at Cobden Garden Homestay in Napier for two nights and found it to be very comfortable, and very welcoming. Phillip and Rayma, our hosts were so accommodating and such good hosts, that they made us feel completely at home! We are thrilled with your review and pleased you mentioned our invitation to contribute to the EcoEd charity which helps raise kiwi chicks in Hawke's Bay. We have contributed about $2000.00 to it over the years to help our endangered National Bird. So thank you to all of our guests who have made a donation in exchange for a laundry... More

We have just had a really lovely 2 night stay with Rayma and Phillip and it was really lovely. Our room was fantastic / very spacious and lots if lovely soft furnishings to a very high standard. A truly delightful B&B run by charming hosts. It offers very comfortable accommodation in lovely surroundings and breakfast is superb, everything you could want is on offer. The only downside for us was not having a bath in our en-suite, but not too much of an issue. Overall very highly recommended.

Thank you for your compliments and we are so sorry you did not have a bath in your room as two of our three rooms do. It is so unfortunate that a bath was not requested. You must have been in the Titoki Room that has the walk in shower and twin basins. The other upstairs room (the Ahuriri Room)... More
