We spend two nights at Mon Logis and thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have happily added another night. Gerardo is a larger-than -life Frenchman who clearly loves meeting people and spoiling them. This is not a impersonal B&B. As the name implies, guests are invited into the host's home. He cooks and serves the breakfast and provides his own... More

Gerard is a great host lots of fun and his breakfasts were top notch. We stayed 4 nights our room was cleaned every day. The rooms are very clean with lovely linen. Our view was of the beach. There is a lounge you can relax with tea, coffee, juice, water and biscuits. Couldn't find one single fault. We will be back.... More

Great accommodation, entertaining host and delicious breakfasts. Gerard's croissants are mouth-watering. He was a very attentive host, even offering me medication for my cold which somewhat spoiled our stay. We will be back, however, to enjoy all that Napier has to offer.

Arrived at Mon Logis around 5 pm. Welcomed by the owner/host Gerard. Offered tea and other drinks if needed and shown to our room - as we were the only guests at this time, we chose a sea view. Excellent room and facilities, host was very friendly and we had an excellent 2 night stay. Additional visitors arrived for our... More

We are not normally B&B people however this is the third we have stayed at and our opinions are up for review. Mon Logis is a beautifully restored old building owned by Monsieur Gerard - Mine Host Extrordinaire - and his hospitality and accommodation is 5 star plus. What we enjoyed most however whilst partaking (having some) of his beautifully... More

Our two day stay was most pleasant with delightful Seaview, Marine Parade outlook views. Breakfast was generous and Gerrard a good chef and interactive host, really liked the dining room and lounge room decor with all we needed.Comfortable bed, clean, nice linens with balcony to open out to the view.Would be happy to stay again and recommend.

This small hotel is not a flash modern high rise, it is a charming small hotel with 4 rooms (with ensuite) that is comfortable, cozy and perfectly located opposite the beach. It never disappoints and the chef, Gerard, makes sure that breakfast (French of course) is an experience not to be forgotten!

Watching the sunrise each morning from the bed is a great addition to this wonderful B&B with a great host and superb freshly made breakfast. Wonderful omelettes and fresh fruit and homemade croissants are provided. Rooms are olde worlde and very comfortable. Beds very comfortable. We stayed two nights and could have easily stayed longer. Napier is a lovely city.convenient... More

Once again we had a great couple of nights stay at Mon Logis. It is very charming and comfortable, in an excellent location on the sea front in walking distance to town, and Gerard was welcoming as usual. We really enjoy the conversations we have with other guests over the magnificent breakfasts.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Mon Logis Luxury Bed & Breakfast Marine Parade Napier, New Zealand. A little Piece of France nestled in the heart of the beautiful wine growing region of Hawke's Bay. Originally built as an English Terrace house in the 1860's, this colonial Building was extended into a private hotel. Only a few minutes walk to the city centre, this grand two story colonial villa overlooking the Pacific ocean has a fascinating history as a private hotel since the early 1900's. Mon Logis is one of the building who survive the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake. In 1991, it became Mon Logis, meaning "My Dwelling." Now lovingly renovated, Mon Logis will cater to a maximum of eight guests and is modeled on the small privately owned French hotel. Charming personal service and French cuisine are the specialties. Of the upstairs individually furnished rooms, two have queen size beds and two have twin beds and all have their own private facilities. Owner Frenchman Gerard decorated each guest room differently but in a style in keeping with the original charm of the building. Iron bedsteads, feather duvets, lace covers and fine cotton linen all create a special elegance and one room is totally furnished with pieces bought from France. Downstairs an informal guest lounge invites relaxation, television viewing, a quiet time reading or perhaps a game of chess or bridge. Guests can help themselves to coffee or tea and biscuits any time of the day. Breakfast, served in the privacy of your own room or downstairs dining room, could be a basket of freshly baked continental breads, croissants and brioche with a compote of locally grown fruits or a wonderful herb omelette, crispy bacon and grilled tomatoes. Whichever is chosen certainly promises to be a most memorable meal. However, should the choice be made to dine out, Gerard is happy to give recommendations and as guide competent in giving an insight into Napier's unique architecture. All perfectly designed for comfort and relaxation, Mon Logis is a non smoking establishment and does not cater for children. French and Spanish are spoken; exclusive customised vineyard tour with host by arrangement. " Mon Logis is casual elegance at a price you can afford." ... more   less
