Room was good with an excellent view which was slightly spoilt by the building works over the road. Clean with plenty of room. close to all that is required in town, we had our evening meal in the restaurant. Quite reasonable meal but the staff seemed to be trying too hard to be pleasant and helpful.

Scenic Hotel Te Pania is a somewhat dated building but the rooms are okay, at least mine ways. It's a perfectly comfortable place with nice staff who work there. Good wifi, spacious rooms, a good coffee maker with pods etc. It really is just fine but nothing special or particularly interesting. Views of the ocean are nice although my view...

Really enjoy staying at this hotel. Always a great experience, excellent staff, beautiful breakfast and nice comfortable beds . The rooms up higher are always the best, with great views. So close to town, so can stay and walk anywhere . Just wish there was a reward in the price structure so if you stay often then you get a...

This is an excellent hotel, with beautiful public spaces, comfortable rooms, a lovely location on the sea front, free parking, free wifi and very friendly staff. The breakfast buffet is good, and there are DIY washing/laundry facilities on each floor. Very difficult to find anything to fault.

Hotel is situated on the sea front overlooking road and building work opposite so no view to speak of. Room 219 was quiet with a king size bed but mattress and pillows very soft, bar, tea, coffee, kettle iron and board plus table and 2 chairs. Nice bathroom with shower over bath, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and moisturising lotion. Breakfast...

Choose to try the scenic circle after seeing it on TV that it takes dogs. Our border collie is very much part of the family so we decided to bring him along. Booking was easy, check in a breeze. We had a ground floor room with outdoor access to the grass for the dog which was perfect. Room was well...

Only had 1 night in this hotel but I could have stayed in the bed for days - it was the most comfortable bed ever. It's in a great location right on the sea front, but although all rooms have a sea view some like mine were blocked by trees so if you a perfect ocean view, ask for a...

After reading the advice on Trip Adviser we took a punt with this hotel. We are very glad we did. Service top notch and hotel was to a high standard. I left my mobile at the hotel after checking out only to discover this while hiking! Hotel staff mailed back to Aus with no fuss! Would highly recommend if visiting...

The hotel is very modern with a clean look just a short distance from this very Art Deco City. The style inside the hotel is a direct contrast to the architecture nearby.. The restaurant is very average - they did manage to forget my wife's meal and kind of forgot I asked for a rare steak brinign a medium-well done.

Having escaped Wellington after the quake we had a long and tiring drive to reach the hotel. We had a warm and friendly welcome, an upgrade to a corner room and a view that was stunning. The hotel is an easy walk into town, offering lots of dining choices. We loved it so much that we extended our stay from...
