I stayed a total of 8 weeks at Waterfront Lodge from March 2014 to May 2014. Initially the purpose of staying here was due to Ashley promising me work, and true to his words he got me a kiwi picking job. However as time went by, I made many wonderful companions and travelers who were living in the hostel as...

I like this backpacker, it's sweet like home. I never thought I would stay here for nearly five months, but I really do. People here is friendly, and I met a lot of good fellows. The owners Jakki and Ashley like our parents, they also help me and my husband found good jobs. I love here.

Hi, We spent 2 weeks in this backpacker looking for a seasonal job. The owner said before we came that he had some job for us and that we had to stay if we ant to work, but its not true! No work, or just few days per week but not enough to save money (and a lot of people...

Please avoid this especially during kiwi, apple, whatever season that Napier was famous for. The place will FULL with workers, dirty and messy will be their best description. I came with my friends and we have to stay at different rooms due to unavailability. Too bad by the time I was begging for a sleep I found that my bed...

I booked two nights by phone and gave my credit card as a guarantee. We arrived at the hostel at about 1pm and decided not to stay in Napier but to move on further south. I went and asked if we could cancel our booking and the girl at reception said no problem. I even asked if there was a...

The rooms are very good value, and the hostel also offers a weekly rate for people who are working. The owners can help you find seasonal work in the orchards. One of the cheapest hostels in Napier, without being low quality. The beds are nice, the kitchen has everything you need. TV-lounge and computer-room available. Its location is also very...

Generally speaking try to avoid the vine and kiwifruits seasons like March to June as there will be packed by seasonal workers. Location is generally good. Beach and car park just across the road. There are plenty of art shops, eating outlet along the Marine Parade and Hastings Street which is just a block away. Some of rooms size are...

Stayed here for 2 nights in January. Dorm rooms were small and hot (in January) but the friendliness of the place outweighed that for me. I met lots of people here and really enjoyed my time here. Full kitchen, everything you need. Not shiny and new, but functional all the same. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Location is...

I enjoyed my stay here and met a lot of interesting people from all over the world. I did note that a couple of guests were causing noise and problems for the owners and can say that they were very disrespectful and the hostel is a much better place without them, that's for sure. I have read the long notes...

We paid to stay at this hostel for a week looking for jobs in Napier. On the third night, we were listening to music outside at 930pm. Quiet hours start at 1030pm but the Hostel owner came out and threatened to kick us out if we did not turn off the music. We thought it was strange since it was...
