Awesome little place on the edge of town. We were greeted in a warm and friendly manner with milk, OJ and beer! They upgraded our room free also. Tv was great with many channels. We had everything we needed in the unit and more. Just be aware the road is nearby (and noisy) for all motels on this road and...

We were thinking this was a bed and breakfast but were disappointed. The room was fantastic but there was not the homey feeling we were hoping for. We were greeted by a young man who briefly showed us our room and gave us minimal information about the facility. It certainly was not a warm welcome. It is a lovely old...

We booked the entire house with a group group of friends for 4 nights. It was amazing as the rooms are huge and the place was spotlessly clean. As we had rented the whole house the manager was not on site but responded quickly to our inquiries regarding the pool. The house is beautiful and was excellent for the 10...

Just discovered this treasure last night. Arrived on spec tired and stressed after dark and settled into the beautiful Nikau room. Warm quiet. Decor very tasteful with lovely fabrics and native timbers. Huge relaxing spa bath in large well appointed en suite. Only guest and needs minimal but breakfast available and lovely breakfast room. I will be coming here often....

Gisborne is a bit out of the way, even by New Zealand standards and a lot of the accommodation options don’t look all that exciting. So why not try an older period guest house close to the centre of the City. Gisborne is the smallest city in New Zealand, so being close to the CBD is not a big deal....

I was aware when I booked that there are several opinions on tripadvisor who say the manager is impossible to deal with-however I still booked as the pictures looked lovely . Am so glad I did! First of all it is an amazing house, old, GRAND STYLE villa, refurbished and decorated with love!. Rooms are spacious with excellent facilities. I...

We stayed one night at this beautiful boutique hotel. What a beautiful place, our room was huge and nicely furnished, shared bathroom but there was no one else staying upstairs so this was no problem. Breakfast provided took into account my husbands allergies and was generous. Only complaint was poor welcoming and no explanation of what we were able to...

Beautiful house, welcoming host, very nice stay. We stayed only for a night but its one of those places You feel at home and wanted to stay longer. I had a chance to see all the rooms, and each one of them has a great attention to details with its own character.

First the positives: good location about 10 minutes walk from most places. Room a good size and clean. Free parking and wi-fi. Now for the downside: if the owner is James (I think that was his name ) then he has never been on any type of customer service course in his life. In fact he had certificates on display...

Cedar House in Gisborne is one of the best places we've stayed. Great comfort and luxury, but at a standard motel price. The room we had this time had a large ensuite with spa bath and from the top floor looked out over the river. Being so close to the centre of town meant we could walk around without driving....
