Stayed for four nights in November as a couple. The rooms are tiny - a small double bed, desk and chair and a storage unit. Then a minuscule kitchen ( fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, hob and sink ) and a shower room with toilet and tiny sink. You share the kitchen, shower room and entrance with one other "room". We... Apart from the fact that there was no sign telling you how to get into the building (though it just takes a minute of searching to work it out yourself) the apartments were pretty good for the price. We chose to pay on check out just in case all the bad reviews were true but we were pleasantly surprised. We... More

Stayed for 3 nights and it's average at best, no wifi, space is quite tight in the apartment and the beds are not the greatest as you can feel the springs prodding through the mattress. They should put up signs of where the entrance to the place is, as it's not so obvious. On a positive note the price is... More

Had one night here wanted to leave straight away. First of all I couldn't find the way into the building, had to ask the sushi place at the top as there was no signs and befor I could say anything he said 'down the steps' as if he's been asked all day. And he was right its all steps so... More

I stayed here with 5 of my friends when we went to the Katy Perry concert and was very disappointed! To start with awful stairs to go down just to get to reception and with 6 girls all with heavy suitcases no one offered to help. We stayed here as they said they were fully furbished which being there for... More

Reception is open until late so we were able to check in after 10pm however, after travelling on a bus for 6-7 hers and exhausted we were told that they hadn't received our booking. Fair enough, these things happen when you book through external websites but it was disheartening. The rooms and apartments are very small and bizarrely, even though... More

Generally speaking, the apartment is simply acceptable, given the price ($35 per night for people staying over 2 weeks). The rooms are small, and some rooms don't have desks. The kitchen is in the common corridor shared by two rooms, and it is still quite small. Housekeepping are on a weekly basis unless people check-out. The quality of housekeeping varies.... More

A little unorthodox as a mixture of Hotel/Apartment and Backpckers, but it works. The Princeton is 17 storey building on Symonds St which is smack on the bus route from the Airport and literally drops you off over the road, and Vice-Versa. The Accomodation consists of Lockable rooms that are more akin to a small suite as you have, along... More

I stayed at plenty hostels while travelling around NZ, but this is by far the WORST! The building is basically a cheap accommodation building for students in Auckland, and when there are empty rooms, it would be rented out to travellers (thus "backpackers hostel"). PROS: - It's located in the city, but maybe about 5 mins downhill walk away from... More

This place is a doss house for the less fortunate in society and those looking to prey on them. Despite having lived and traveled extensively in some of the world's poorest countries I have never stayed somewhere as unsafe or filthy. Do not stay here!
