Using the details of my Visa card from a previous booking, these people uplifted one night's tarrif as a NO SHOW for a CASH Booking the very day NZ was closed to all foreigners, 21 March '20 ! They were asked to do the right thing and refund the money and have now not answered a further two emails, let alone refunded. I am considering referring the matter to the Auckland police as they used my Visa Card details illegally, in my view. I hope everyone travelling to Auckland in the future will give this mob a wide berth !
This hotel is centrally located. Literally just outside the hotel is the shuttle bus stop from/to the airport! The room/hotel is basic. But it has everything you would need - iron, ironing board, fridge, tv, iron, coffee/tea machine etc.
The Auckland Econo Lodge City Central is well located and within walking distance of most everything in the central business district. The hotel is clean, the bed was comfortable, and while the bathroom was small, it also was clean. The front desk personnel were helpful and friendly with advice on local restaurants and sights to visit. We would recommend the Econo Lodge City Central when staying in Auckland.
The hotel is a bit tired, but it is clean & well situated. All the stay were super friendly & helpful. The room was large, but the window was a bit small, hence the room was a bit dark. Lounge area downstairs was pleasant & comfortable.
It is what it says on the label - and there's nothing wrong with that! This is low budget accommodation for those who really are sick of backpackers and just need a night or two in Auckland without breaking the bank. Yes, the whole place looks like it was trapped in the 60's, the floor is uneven, and the bathroom is spartan, but that's all you need when you're only up for a concert, etc. The service from the staff is good, there is breakfast available and quick check in and out. Don't knock it until you try it!
