Comfortable Hotel for an overnight stay. My room was clean and the bed comfortable. Previous reviews of this hotel lead me to expect very little and was pleasantly surprised. The ensuite was exactly as pictured on the website. If you want more up market, then pay an extra $40-50 and stay at the Quadrant on Waterloo Street. I saw first...

The pictures on their site are all misleading, rooms are WAYYYY worse in real life. Had a terrible nights sleep and gapped it out of there a.s.a.p. in the morning. Seriously, DO NOT STAY THERE. We went to see our friends room in the Quadrant (cost them $30 more), stay there. We wish we did.

True to form, this was THE ONLY hotel we did not research and do reviews on before leaving Australia and what we got was TERRIBLE. We were hooking up with Red Carpet Tours(HIGHLY recommended)for the "Lord of The Rings" tour a few days later and just needed some place to crash at before. Our tour guides tried to warn us...

My husband and I booked at the Arena Hotel, principally because of it's handyness to the Arena Staduim, where we were attending a show. We liked the idea of being able to just walk to the show and back again afterwards, and not have to worry about traffic etc. At the time of booking, we were intending to stay 3...

The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming. When we went to our rooms, we found it amusing that there was a filing cabinet in the hallway....very random. The room was not the flashiest but it was clean and I found the bed comfy. The rooms were a bit warm, but no air-conditioning. I slept with the window open (we were...

Lady at the front desk was lovely and really helpful. Hotel was in OK location but next time wouldnt stay there. No real problems except on the last night we spent an hour or so in the lobby in our pj's due to the fire alarm going off... It went off because it was RAINING too much....

That really sums it up, a cheap hotel, with very few thrills, but for the price its by no means a hell-hole. Its in an ok location for the city, Queen St, the harbour area etc all walking distance. Parking over the road. Cannot comment on food as didn't partake. Rooms were small but clean, shower was ok - Auckland...

Well, yes this is not a lovely place to stay. It is noisy and worse than most of the hostels, rooms are tiny and the bathrooms are quite grubby and smell bad.......but it won't kill you if you have earplugs and require a CHEAP hotel. However - the staff are very nice and helpful, it has a good location the...
