A good wee place not far from Vector Arena or the Viaduct. Although the rooms were a bit dated they were very clean and tidy. The bed was average but the shower was amazing. sadly though the TV reception wasn't any good. There are tea and coffee making facilities and a shared kitchen too. Overall a good place to stay... Very good value for money for a place in the middle of the city. Very helpful staff and highly experienced manager. Place has the options of long stay or backpackers. Very near to queen street (about 10 min walk) which means you are very close to the heart of the city

Very close to everything. Manager of the place is very helpful and supportive. The place is suitable for long stay or backpackers. I think I would remember it as it is my first place to stay in NZ. The WiFi service is quite good as well.

Greeted with a smile. Fairly cheap, restaurant upstairs. Wifi connection is good. Bed is comfortable, clean, soft and smells good. (No air conditioner, just a miserable fan) Bathroom facilities is rundown but still works fairly well. Clean. Kitchen is rundown, dirty and I don't recommend using it. Overall, I would go back if I'm on a tight budget, if not... More

This was the first 'hotel' I had ever stayed in in Auckland, was needing something close to Vector Arena & this was one of the closest & reasonably priced. Location was great, very convenient but that was about the only plus. Looked GREAT in the pics but I guess thats how they attract your attention! Room was dirty, was a... More

Stayed here for a week for meetings along Queen Street and the location was a mere 15 minutes walk. Facilities are basic and the building is fairly old but it was comfortable although a little noisy at times from the big motorcycles that constantly rode by. Best part of the hotel for me was the friendly staff who were always... More

helpful and kind staff, near CBD and Britomart Transport Centre so you have access to all areas easily. building is very old and kitchen is not equipped. The Internet is free in the lobby. there is a shop by 2 minutes walk and 24 hours hypermarket(Countdown) just 5 minutes walk nearby. For midterm stay is suitable. The price for this... More

I stayed at the arena hotel for 3 days, I found it to be pleasant, staff very helpful and informative with regard to public transport. Rooms were basic, clean and comfortable, a tad squashy, there is a laundry available, a nice little bakery nextdoor with pastries, and service station across the road open till late. You can walk into the... More

Convenient start to my tour of New Zealand very close to the station.(then) Cheap and cheerful and the food was good. Only drawbacks noise at night when one of the other guests bit someones ear off in a disco and on the first evening in NZ a drunk chap in the bar started complaining about bl...dy Poms.Still after 23 years... We stayed there for a concert at Vector Arena. After reading reviews prior, I wasn't expecting much but since it was only the bed we were wanting it didn't matter. We were pleasantly surprised. It is a rustic old building with a charming facade. The staff were very friendly and eager to please. I was worried about overnight parking coz... More
