From the moment I phoned Bart our experience has been of top service! Upon arrival Bart ensured that myself, my hubby and our daughter were taken care of. We're from the country and so being in the city was a big deal for us. Our stay was just magical! The rooms (spotless!) - the views of the city (stunning!) - the FOOD (so many choices!) - WOW! Breakfast was just out of this world! But most of all it was our host Bart and his fur baby Zubaidi who made our stay most memorable. He went over and above our expectations catering for all our needs where possible. Thank you Bart for making our trip that more special. You have quite a gem in the midst of the busy city. We also enjoyed being able to walk to all the shops, cafes and restaurants. Make sure to visit the Chocolate Boutique Cafe down the road - you won't regret it! Again, this place is sooo good that we can't wait to go back!…
We stayed 2 nights at this wonderful B&B and would recommend it highly to others. It's located in the heart of Parnell, which is a nice, quiet area with several good restaurants and boutique stores nearby. The hosts, Bart and Therese, were truly a delight as was their sweet dog, Zubaidi! Even before our trip began, they were most helpful and quick to respond to our questions on things to do and places to see in and around the Auckland area. The Garden Room - King Room was well appointed, spacious and clean. And the view from the community balcony of the Auckland harbor and downtown skyline was phenomenal, especially at night. Each morning, they prepared a delicious breakfast (made to order from their menu) that proved to be much more than one can possibly eat. A definite "must stay" if we should return to New Zealand again!…
Yes, I would like to keep this place a secret as I don't want to find it booked out when I want to stay there again, but then as they say, you should not hide a light under a bushel. Best accommodation in one of the oldest and best suburbs of Auckland, what more can you ask for. Only regret is I have never stayed there before and that we had to leave after more than a week there. Got so used to the wonderful room overlooking the harbour with the CBD to the left of us and yet far enough from the rat race, got so used to the fantastic breakfasts there with wonderful conversation with the host, got so used to the ample space around us in Auckland where living spaces are getting smaller, got so used to the peaceful & beautiful surroundings in a graceful & charming suburb, got so used to saying hello to "man's best friend", Zubaidi (the Saluki). We live in Auckland and stayed at Ascot Parnell as we were moving between suburbs. Needed a place to relax as it was a stressful time and we got a lovely haven for over a week between the two suburbs we were moving from and to. We have stayed in other properties and good hotels around Auckland but this place beats them all hands down. Would readily recommend Ascot Parnell to anyone and would love to stay there again (despite actually living in Auckland). Well done Ascot Parnell and hope to be there again someday!!!…
We stayed 2 nights at this gorgeous B&B, which was spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. The breakfasts were divine. The view was gorgeous. The location was super convenient. What made it truly outstanding, though, was the welcome we received from Bart and Therese. It was a joy.
We stayed with Bart and Therese at Ascot Parnell for 4 nights in February before a hiking trip throughout New Zealand. The accommodations, location and service were the best we have ever experienced. Starting with the pick up at the Airport (on time, friendly, fast) and continuing through the airport drop off, we could not have asked for more. The accommodations are lovely, quiet and comfortable, carefully appointed and of course immaculate. We swam each day in the pool, a very relaxing way to end a day of sight seeing. The breakfasts are delicious. Parnell is a quiet and upscale residential area and a central location, within walking distance to the War Memorial museum, Maritime Museum, harbor, numerous parks, restaurants. Therese and Bart could not have been more perfect hosts. They accommodated every wish we had. We really felt cared for. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our entire trip to New Zealand, but staying at Ascot Parnell, although intended just as a time for us to catch our breath before hiking, was a highlight.…
