Stayed 3 nights this week and was very pleased with the experience! Excellent location, close to the cafes and shops, bus stop right outside the hotel and walking distance to the wharf and ferry. The service was also good. Very friendly staff. On the first night, I found the blankets a bit itchy and they changed it without fuss. The...

The Grand Windsor is nearing it's complete renovation and the new rooms are a treat. For starters, it's REALLY nice to sleep in a super-comfy brand new hotel bed w/ new sheets and fresh fluffy pillows. I think that this hotel has done a superlative job completely redoing the hotel rooms + ensuites. The lobby restaurant bar is next. Located...

This hotel is in a central location and close to the ferry terminal, useful for us as we had no car. The staff on arrival were extremely friendly and helpful and allowed us to have the room an hour early. There is a lot of renovation work going on and although there are two lifts only one was available for...

I made this my base for exploring Auckland. I was impressed when I walked into the lobby. It looked pretty grand, and the service was good ...the room was not quite as grand as the lobby, but it was clean and comfortable. The beast thing about the Grand Windsor is it's location ...a perfect place to stay, both for exploring...

Overnight trip for Simple Minds/B52s concert. All city accommodation really expensive. Found this hotel for $260. Turned up at 3 for a 2pm check in and told room wasn't ready. Not a biggie- went out for a late lunch. Returned at 4.30 and Manager met us???? Escorted us personally to room - 1st occupancy post refurbishment. Smallish but more than...

My partner wrote a review of this hotel after our first stay there on 1 February (but it was actually my words). That first night was a total disaster due to loud music from a club right next door until the early hours of the morning. That was room 3.10. However, the next day, they moved us to room 3.04...

Stayed here as we were going to the Karaka horse sales . I was terrified after reading the noise reviews, however, we were at the Queen St end of the hotel and there was no noise. The location is just perfect. Rooms need renovating, but they are doing that . We paid very little, 50% off because of this, and...

Located close to shops, cafes and waterfront. However also near clubs so bring ear plugs (I always have them anyway so didn't bother me). Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable but I don't think pushing two single beds together makes a king bed?? Clearly felt the gap in the middle of the bed. Few cracks in walls...

So, it's approaching 1am and I'm writing a review about the hotel I'm staying in - The "Grand" Windsor Hotel. That will tell you something about where this review is going. On the plus side - it's cheap, a great location and really good size rooms. BUT, and it's a really, really big but. The noise is so loud from...

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in! Stained carpet, dirty bathroom I think the bed would have been 25 years old and provided no support. I was on floor 1 and the loud music from the hotel next door was extreme to early hours of the morning. Impossible to sleep At $190 NZD it wasn't that cheap....
