Picked this hotel as it was near Vector Arena and unfortunately that was its only good point. Desperately in need of refurbishment with furniture worn, stained and chipped. My main gripe is the ridiculous charges for internet. I stayed 2 nights and ended up paying $40 in order to keep up with my work. I'm currently traveling in South East... More

I chose Copthorne over others in the central city mainly on cost as it was $40 cheaper than a similar grade hotel. Yes, a bit dated but not so bad as others i have stayed in recently. The desk should be fixed up, and the bathroom damage (see photos) but everything else works and looks good. The bed was comfortable with... More

Wheelchair access.YES. Good location - within 10 minutes walk of seafront, Auckland universities and city centre. Excellent sleep quality based on occupancy of 5th floor room overlooking Anzac Avenue. Does not provide a shuttle bus link to the airports (domestic and international). Breakfast buffet display features both cooked $NZ10 and continental $NZ10 fare. Ensure you know the breakfast package included... More

The hotel is a bit dated, they still have old fashioned keys on a big ring, and the beds are not exactly pillow-top. On the other hand, I arrived at 7 AM after traveling all night and they let me check-in. He did warn me the room was not "quiet" as it backed onto the elevators, but with the fan... More

Very disappointed to book for two nights, and straight away we both starting looking for another hotel for two nights. Nothing was available that first night so we reluctantly stayed and left the next morning. It had a horrible smell, an odour trying to cover up smoking. It was also dirty. There were twin beds as requested, and the floor... More

If you are heading to Waiheke for the day and staying on the mainland, this is a decent place to stay for one night. It is a bit run down, but functional and clean. About a 10 minute walk to the ferry terminal.

We stayed here about a year ago, and it was worth what we paid, now it is run down, and feels unloved. We were in room 611, the armchair needs replacing, as the "leather" is ripped on the chair and is now tachy looking, the room has obviously had a paintbrush thrown at it, but no masking tape, the shower... Only for those who want close to uni accommodation and don't need wi fi. Appalling in 2016 to have such a poor and expensive wifi service. The breakfast was ok but not particularly nice despite funny NZ jokes. The rooms are nothing special and the hall light and noise seeps into rooms under doorways.

This hotel is very noisy, run down and is located in an unattractive area of Auckland. The restaurant is particularly bad. The only positive I can point to is that they offer a washing machine and dryer for guests to wash their own clothes. This came in handy as we were halfway though our travels and would have needed to... More

Copthorne in Auckland is in an amazing location in the city. Close enough that everything's a short walk. We were on the top floor with views over the city which was nice. However parking is horrible. For a hotel that has over 100 rooms, there is only enough parking for a dozen cars.. and you have to pay to park... More
