I was on a businesstrip and found a great alternative to a downtown accommodation. David and Averell are outstanding hosts - delicious breakfast - try the bagel with cream cheese, scrambled egg, salmon and avocado. Very quite and peaceful. Close distance to St. Heliers restraurants (10-15 min walk). Go there!

The Consulate is truly a luxury B&B. We actually stayed there last month, and have been remiss in not doing our review sooner. Our hosts David & Averill immediately made us welcome and very comfortable in their fabulous home for our 3 day stay in Auckland. Our huge room was upstairs with a super comfortable king-size bed, balcony, and our... More

A lovely place to stay in St. Helena run by David and Averell Archer. Upon arriving, we were greeted by our very personable hosts with a cheese platter and sparking wine. It was a great location in a beautiful neighborhood not to far from many good restaurants down by the waterfront. We enjoyed David's delicious breakfasts each morning. A thoroughly... More

My wife and I stayed here for a night and loved this establishment. David and Avril were charming hosts and the house is fabulous. Lovely big bedroom and large comfortable well appointed lounge. Cooked breakfast was delicious. Located in St Heliers you are close to good restaurants on the waterfront All in all a great find.

David and Averill are charming hosts at this lovely B&B. It is located just outside Auckland, which worked great for us since we had a car and appreciated both the nice neighborhood and proximity (10-15 minute drive) to town. Sleeping room was very comfortable (only issue was slightly warm but this is probably only a problem for small portion of... More

This charming B&B is in a quiet neighbourhood but quite discreet and as a result it is quite difficult to find but worth it when you get there. Very comfortable stay, and we treated as treasured guesta with a very good breakfast. We had the use of our own sitting room and the use of the pool and tennis court in... More

We had a wonderful say at the Consulate. Our room was spacious but a bit warm. You can't open the windows very much to create a draft so it did not cool off very much at night. The bathroom is very large but I wonder if you have to share it when there are other guests!?? You have your own... More

What delightfully friendly people. We were thoroughly welcomed. Home from home, such a beautiful house. We would highly recommend. It's in a suburb 15 minutes out of the city with a beautiful walk down to the beach and a great selection of restaurants nearby. Just so relaxing and a tennis court and pool to boot!

We just spent an extremely comfortable night in the Royal room of this charming home. After a long flight we appreciated the champagne and cheese plate served in the elegant lounge where we met another couple from Europe. David and Averill were welcoming hosts and cooked a superb breakfast the following morning. A great location for us as we had... More

A great location for our recent stay. David and Averill were very considerate hosts, serving champagne and a cheese board on arrival and then leaving us to it while we watched tv in the lounge room. We appreciated being able to make hot chocolates in the evening before heading up to bed. We had a comfortable sleep in an enormous... More
