Stayed at Big Tom's for 2 nights with some friends. Good setup for two couples -- two separate bedrooms each with ensuite bathrooms. Living room with wood-burning fireplace; firewood and started provided. Wifi included, but slow. Kitchen is quaint with adequate supplies -- fresh eggs and a loaf of fresh baked bread waiting for you on arrival. Van seemed nice,... More

We stayed at Big Tom's Cottage and had a truly relaxed weekend in a wonderful setting. With stunning views of Te Mata Peak and a large secluded garden, the tastefully renovated house was fully equipped with everything you could ever need. It was so peaceful and in the evening we sat with a glass of wine just looking up at... More

This review is for "Little Tom's Cottage". We stayed at Little Tom's Cottage for 5 days through mixed weather. The site is completely private, off a quiet road, with an outlook from the long porch across lawn, trees and planting to to Te Mata, unobstructed and ever-changing views. peace and seclusion... The small home was roomy enough - a little... More

Amazing! THE perfect place for us to enjoy a romantic weekend away! Such a beautifully renovated cottage, with views to die for! Van was so helpful and obliging, even running us down the road where we had a dinner reservation at Craggy Range winery. The wood fired tub was a fantastic quirky treat pre drinks on the verandah enjoying the... More

My wife and I stayed in Little Tom's Cottage and it was certainly a stay of ups and downs. To start with the positives, the location is great, so scenic and peaceful and surrounded by birds and wildlife. To look out amongst the olive trees and see turkeys roaming was a highlight for us. The cottage was quaint and cosy... More

Was in NZ for a mate's wedding and stayed at Big Tom's Cottage for 2 nights. Such a great cottage in an absolutely beautiful location. We had a really wonderful stay, the owners drop breakfast stuff on your doorstep in the morning, so peaceful and tranquil ... however it could have been a disaster... I booked using Agoda, which included... More

Would we stay here again, unfortunately no. The cabin has had some "royal" publicity in the past and whilst we enjoy rustic style boarding we do expect a reasonable level of cleanliness and not having to clean glasses and crockery. Slightly grubby furnishings, were unfortunately the order of the day. Van is very helpful, however as previous reviewers have commented... More

This was to be the highlight of our Hawkes Bay trip with my sister from the UK showing her some of NZ's quaintness. The cottage is in a lovely location but we found the kitchen bench and dining table plus some of the glassware needed cleaning before we could use them. The gardens surrounding the cottage were full of weeds... More

This was the second time we have stayed at Tom's Cottages, and again it did not disappoint. We have stayed in both Big Tom's and Little Tom's and both are lovely, however for a couple, Little Tom's is so cozy and romantic. The view from the porch is just amazing, and being able to lie in the comfy bed and... More

The highlight of the trip was our three nights at Big Tom’s Cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about this beautiful spot – from the fresh flower arrangements, to the ample breakfast ingredients, to the comfortable beds and the beautiful views from the patio, the front door and out every window. Our one regret was that we visited in the summer... More
