We were a group at 32 people on our way to Wellington and got a marvelous homecooked lunch. Kylie told us a lot about the farm and I would have loved to stay there for a couple of days. Hope to come back one day.
Farmstay was very relaxing - beautiful views, friendly animals and lots of places to hang out and listen to the birds. We really enjoyed it. We mainly used bbq to cook as kitchen area is very small but that worked well for our group. Marton not far away if you need supplies.
We spent two memorable days at this wonderful farmstay. Kylie was very warm, welcoming and friendly. She ensured that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable one. We stayed in the bunkhouse. It is a heritage home that has been restored. Enough care has been taken to retain the character while making it more comfortable. The deck area is lovely and has BBQ to meet all your cooking requirements. What we loved the most was the greenery around with a lot of trees and plenty of walks that you can take within the property. I cannot describe in words how pleasant the whole setting was. You got to experience it. Special mention to Kylie for giving us a wonderful tour of the property/animal feeding. She answered our queries very patiently and explained what they and farmers like them around doing to preserve our wonderful landscape. We hope to be back here in future.…
Kylie was very welcoming. The West Hut was comfortable and clean with beautiful views down the valley. The dawn chorus was lovely to wake up to and the night sky amazing without light pollution. The bunk house was well equipped for self catering. We were holidaying with our granddaughter and she loved the experience, feeding animals and riding Dude was a highlight. Dinner on our last night got an overwhelming seal of approval from us all.
After reading all the wonderful reviews we booked our farmstay in New Zealand with Andrew and Kylie Stewart who own and run Rangitikei Farm. The Farm has been in the family since 1901. They have 2000-3000 sheep , 200 cattle, 5 working dogs, 2 cats, 2-3 horses and ponies and chicken. We got to go on a farm tour on the back of Andrew’s 4WD quad, it was wonderful as we learnt abt farming sheep n cattle. It’s wonderful that they are so generous to share their lifes and farms with us, even if its only for one memorable day.
