I stayed in the Old Swan Barracks for a couple of months while i worked in Perth. Not the cleanest or quietest place to live. Had to eat out all of the time as the kitchen was rubbish. Apart from that I had a good time there mainly due to the people I met there and the bar and TVs...

Good location, close to the library, northbridge, trains, city. Cat Bus nearby. Probably really good place if you want to go clubbing and have somewhere close to stay with some friends. Very loud. Unbelievably hot in summer. Average in terms of cleanliness. (Australian standards of hygiene). The bathrooms were ok when I was there, and I think the girls in...

Excellent location, over the road from the Library (free internet) and the Museum. Only a few minutes walk from the main bar and club strip of Northbridge. Only a short stroll to the CBD. Clean linen provided. My bed (and pillow) was very comfortable. The room has only a fan and no AC but didn't need it, it was a...

I personally do not understand all the negative comments. If you are a backpacker with a laidback attitude, wanting to meet people from around the globe, have a good time and have tolerance of others, I thoroughly recommend this place. I came here as a solo traveller & although not to the standard of hostels where you are paying $35+/night,...

Nothing is great about this place but its location, shared rooms without AC and shared bathrooms so what will you expect? noisy all night poor self-services breakfast .. I feel this place is like a prison and the difference is that this prison has reception. I would't recommend this place for solo travelers who are looking for a quiet night...

This hostel is very big (really!) is extremely closed to the center of the city and is not so expensive. That's all. I find it very dirty and untidy and not enough organized. There are 4 pools but you have to pay. Idem for wifi and to use pc. I stayed there for one week but if I'll come back...

Rooms are very cramped & bathrooms weren't the best, one lot of showers were out of order when we stayed. Corridors smell like feet & our room door had to be kept open because it used to get stuck closed. There seemed to be a few shady characters in the hostel, particularly in the (tiny) kitchen. Also had an issue...

I am rating this hostel purely on the hygiene of the rooms and service provided. We were given our first room only to find all of the beds in a mess and duvets everywhere, there was no evidence to suggest the bedding had been changed ready for new customers. We were then given a second room, again the room was...

I stayed here for a month and a half (yes, a month and a half!) while I looked for a house share to save money. It's ridiculously expensive for what you get, the drinks are over-priced and the facilities are seriously sub-par. The carpets are sticky, the rooms are tiny and have no A/C, and thieving is rampant. Leave anything...

Not good, I stayed here for 8 nights & couldn't have picked a worse spot. The beds are uncomfortable, the rooms are cramped, the carpet is thouroughly stained, there is a putrid stench that reigns throughout, bathrooms have broken taps & dodgy shower heads. The big comunial hall is great to meet fellow travellers but is definantly not modern, the...
