location of this hotel is very strategic.. sits in the middle of Melbourne CBD. In front of tram station and also there is convenience store, Woolworth nearby. This hotel is ideal for budget travelers. Family with kids with budget travel arrangement can consider this place too.

Stayed at this small Hotel on the 30th Dec 2016 . Location was very good but you will have to unload your luggage at the side road and carry your luggage a distance to the Hotel's main entrance way . Walk through a small alley like lane before taking a lift up first floor to reception . Definately not for...

Small and simple rooms, but it has everything you need and you are right in the center of the city with everything in walking distance. The staff is very friendly and they saved my day by accepting my cancellation when I accidentally booked for september in stead of december (it was non restitution) so I could rebook at the right...

Stayed here while in Melbourne for business. We booked on Booking.com and it was by far the cheapest option. We arrived on a red eye flight and the staff were great and allowed us to check in early in the morning at no extra cost. The location was great, very central. The room however, was a bit dingy. The toilet...

The room has been recently renovated and was of a reasonable size. But the bathroom and toilet are small and compact. This is fine considering this is a budget hotel. I found the room comfortable and is suitable for 2 people. The bed was also comfortable. There is also complimentary tea, coffee and milk provided. The hotel is centrally located...

A very centrally located hotel close to Flinders Street station, Southbank and excellent shops and restaurants. The hotel is basic and aimed at the budget conscious, however for the price it is very good. Rooms have been updated and the beds very comfy, the sink & shower curtain combo was the same setup as Ibis Budget hotels in Europe and...

Felt like I was in a hospital room, no free internet - $10 a day for 1GB. tiny bathroom separated from bed by a curtain, tiny toilet with hardly any room to even sit on the toilet seat. Tv reception stuffed up due to a tiny amount of rain. Old building with very depressing, dusty window views, which don't open...

This has recently been refurbished and now has just the queen size bed in it which is ok for couples/ 2 people. It is centrally located and just minutes from Flinders St Station. There is a kettle provided along with tea/coffee /sugar but the cups (2) are disposable. A decent sized tv. The staff are friendly and helpful. You can...

The hotel is centrally located. If you do not have a car it is located close to all transport and shops in Elizabeth St. It is clean but looking very tired. The only amenity was soap for the shower. Tea and coffee were out of disposable cups and no biscuits supplied. No bath mat which was very inconvenient as the...

Thank you Anna for your feedback on your stay with us at the Ibis Budget Melbourne CBD. We are a budget accommodation and as such offer limited amenities in the rooms to enable us to keep our room rates low. Hence, no biscuits, shampoo etc. Unfortunately in the CBD of Melbourne, parking space is a rare thing. Fortunately we have...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
