Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.

Located in the heart of the CBD, the Treasury , this historic building which has been wonderfully restored offers the charms of yesteryear in its architectural details. The facilities are modern and efficient. The staff was very professional and helpful. The Treasury offers morning a hot morning breakfast buffet and a wine down which are a brillant touch especially for overseas travellers.

TOC deserved all the great reviews in this forum! Just completed a 3 nights stay at their Heritage King suite and yes the suite rocks! Spacious, nicely decorated with washer/dryer in room, Nespresso coffee maker, netflix and Molton Brown toiletries, they ticked all the right boxes! And do booked direct with the hotel, you pay cheaper rates, you get free upgrade if possible, late checkout and even 4-6pm daily free wine down on top of daily breakfast and snacks! Plus the hotel is run by an amazing team of front desk guys, restaurant team, housekeeping....I really could see myself staying here at TOC whenever I am in Melbourne! Keep it up!

We were in Melbourne for a sporting event and needed to stay close to the convention centre. Was in a top spot but the best thing was the service, quality and value for money of the hotel. Couldn't fault our stay.

We stayed at Treasury on Collins for the first four nights of our honeymoon and had a marvelous time. We were jetlagged and wanted a quiet and comfortable place to stay. We had a loft suite which was perfect for our needs. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and complimentary drinks. Treasury on Collins is highly recommended and was the best place we stayed throughout our trip to Australia and New Zealand.
