This was the dirtiest misrepresented accommodation I have ever stayed in, cobwebs every where small cramped space and split level?! I have bad knees and would like to know this before hand. No reception so we had to drive all over Melbourne to get in. HIGHLY recommend choosing other accommodation!!!!!!!!

After reading the reviews, I was worried but I took my chances! As many people recommended, I booked a room on the 14th floor and was surprised by the STUNNING view of the city. The Plum was easy to locate and I couldn't ask for a better location. PROS: the apartment was right outside the tram stop, which was fantastic... More

What can I say the room itself wasn't all bad and in a good location until you realise you have to go to a different suburb to collect the key What clown runs this place have been to many places where you can collect a key from a special locker in the lobby with a combination they text to you... We arrived in Carlton at the so called 24 hour reception to collect our keys as instructed. The door was locked with a note asking you to ring a mobile number. We had just arrived from Indonesia so didn’t have an Aussie sim. Fortunately we had a great taxi driver who loaned us his phone, we had to wait about... More

My partner and I just spent nine days staying here. Key pick up was smooth and efficient, just a minor inconvenience. The apartment on the 14th floor was spacious and clean. It would benefit from a refurb, but the location is perfect. We will definitely stay here again.

How do I even start? I've stayed in many hotels in Melbourne, but the fact the key had to be picked up from carlton was annoying, then to be greeted by a rude staff member, who didn't listen to our needed bed arrangements was lovely! Get to the room, it was average but clean! the kitchen was a decent size,... More

Booked online for a regular business trip to Melbourne. Location near the corner of Elizabeth and Collins was particularly attractive. After making the booking, found out I had to travel to Carlton to pick up the keys. When I objected to this, they stated 'it is on the website'. Small print obviously but tell me, how many business people book... More

If you like a dust or insect, you can sleep here. It's located far far farrrrrrrrrr from city. I've never stayed before. You can find another hotel of course the same price and good quality. Never recommend.

We booked a stay at Plum North Melbourne. When we arrived, I had to clean the fridge, the bathroom was covered in thick dust, the windows were dirty on the inside, the bolts connecting the toilet seat to the bowl had no covers, the shower leaked and the sealed floors needed a good scrub. There are no drawers to store... More

Four of us friends stayed in the Plum Apartments for four nights. Excellent position right in the CBD of Melbourne with Tram stop right outside the front door. Walk to everywhere, Restaurants, shopping, sight seeing. 15 mins to St.Kilda. Apartment was spacious and very clean. Large kitchen and living areas. Bedrooms were good size with Ensuite. Well serviced. Quiet. Only... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
