We had a three bedroom apartment which was ideal for two couples and two kids. The apartment had everything needed for a short to medium term stay and was well located, being in easy walking distance of a tram stop within the free zone and numerous restaurants. Our apartment had great views over the water at Docklands, but unfortunately the... More

For quite well-appointed apartments, the rate this place charges is rather reasonable. The apartment is spacious and very well decorated. If one were to put a well-known brand to this place, the price could more than double, very easily. The room is not far off from rooms at a 4 to 5 star hotels, making this place very good value... First the good news. These are very nice apartments in a very good location, just a few blocks from Southern Cross Station (which is handy for the train and the airport shuttle). It has an IGA next door for all your supplies, cafes scattered everywhere in neighbouring blocks and the rooms are a good size with nice furnishings (though the... More

We booked a studio apartment and it was spacious and had all the amenities required including washing machine and dryer (although we did not use these). Furnishings and interior decor were all good, basic toiletries supplied, handily located next to a IGA (newspapers, groceries, etc), walkable distance to the Southern Cross Station. As these are apartments and not a hotel,... More

These apartments are very well located in Melbourne's CBD and the Loft style apartments are large and well appointed. The staff were also great in general and, in my case specifically as I left some clothes behind and Josh took the time and trouble to see that they were very efficiently mailed back to me. All in all great value.... More

Located in the heart of the CBD is this stunning historic building perfect for the romantic weekend away, a week in Melbourne for business or some family time in the school holidays. You simple park you car and walk everywhere with Bourke street mall just a 5min walk away. The rooms are modern and quite self contained for suites with... More

Location was good for this trip - easy access from southern cross station after the skybus into city - just hopped on a tram down Collins street and there in a few minutes. Lots of great places to eat nearby and an IGA store and liquor store next door. Fabulous old building with the lobby and ground floor still as... More

We booked a one bedroom apartment in this building through Wotif, whose listing stated there would be city views. We also requested an upper floor. We were given an apartment next to the lift on the first floor, at the back of the building. The apartment itself was very nice, but lacked light, as most of the windows viewed directly... More

This is a secure, recently renovated self check in hotel close to shopping, transport, pubs & restaurants. The studio we stayed in for 4 nights is comfortable, clean & well appointed with a small kitchen & laundry. We were pleasantly surprised to find a gym on the ground floor. The building is a beautiful old nineteenth century bank building that... More

Just spend 7 nights here and couldn't really fault it. Location was excellent, within walking distance to the CBD and southbank and close to all public transport. Apartment was clean and tidy in a big beautiful building, stayed in a room with a double bed and sofa bed. There is no reception and the front foyer is completely deserted however... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
