Came here in 2009, was an okay experience. Location was great, frontage had construction work around it and so was a little discrete and covered. Hotel facilities and decor were for the finer more mature clientele and the interiors do show.

After a very very rough year I wanted to treat the kids, so we booked the Mario room. It was very expensive and very average. The WII wasn’t great. Two controllers in a family room.... they need another two so the family can play together. No bean bags in the room ( they’re in the photos). Mario party didn’t work and every disc was scratched. Casting to the main tv didn’t work. I paid $25 for a car park and to leave the car there for an hour past the midday check out they wanted $12.50. Very transactional staff on reception. Would not recommend.

I just finish work and suddenly I wanna buy coffee take away, I'm using my own cup, just because I just finish my coffee so my cup still left over from previous, the staff in the counter beverage doesn't wanna to make it, he said "oh.. It's gross, next time you have to clean up first" it's that the customer service you have to talk to the guest? Even only buy take away coffee? You need training more.

Reception: Helpful friendly staff. Room / facilities: Room number 602 is on the 6 floor and is a clean spacious room, which faces the city of Melbourne. The room has large glass wall, facing the street, with one small window that opens around 10 cm. The windows have both heavy and lighter roller blinds, the room features a king bed with duck down pillows, kitchenette with 2x burners, mini fridge and crockery and cutlery, iron and board, luggage rack , free wifi, paid secure parking, paid self laundry area, pool and gym. Self control split system air conditioning. Laundry: Self service coin laundry with 5 washers and 5 dryers costing $5 per wash and dryers cost $1 for 10 minutes. Wifi: Free with a password required Conclusion: City Hotel with all the benefits of Melbourne city a close easy walk away. Letdowns: Wifi is rather slow, with noise from construction next door and across the road after 7.00 am (Mon - Sat) Location / Nearby: Queen Victoria Markets the next block over, with all the city has to offer a close easy walk away.

We stayed for 2 nights We arrived at 9am to drop off our bags to our delight our room was ready. We had a Studio apartment on the 3rd floor it was very quiet till Saturday morning around 7am when the Block next door is getting demolished and got woken up to very loud banging. Went to reception to ask for a room move no hesitation from marietta. We were moved to the 4th floor on the other side of the building. This room was spacious and water pressure was amazing. We had breakfast at the restaurant both mornings if staying it’s a must sadly I wouldn’t rate dinner tho. Due to Covid19 you have to book in for the pool and hour time slots only. Location is great if you are wanting to stay near Queen Victoria markets it’s a 15/20 min walk to Bourke st tram station at end of street. All the staff were really friendly.
