This hotel is part of the Doubletree Brand owned by Hilton - one of two Hilton hotels in Melbourne. I really like this hotel and have stayed a number of times both for work and personal reasons, most recently a few weeks back. The rooms are relatively small (even compared to the Hilton on South Wharf) but they are fully...

Like many central Melbourne stays the Doubletree manages to provide a great stay, a cool Melbourne vibe all within very small guest rooms. The standard rooms are very small in size and you and your travel companion can expect the become very well acquainted. As a fresh build and brand, the decor is appealing and everything works as it should....

the hotel was in a great location . Close to the Laneways, tram lines and the NGV where we spent some time. The staff were very helpful whenever we had a query. The room was clean and comfortable. We would stay there again.

The whole of Melbourne was sold out the week I was there but I managed to get some accomidations. The loby area is nice and the staff is attentive. located in a great area of Melbourne, your a short walk from meusuems, dinning, drinking, and the train terminal. A trendy river walk is a short distance also, so the location...

Excellent location for getting round the city which is why I chose it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were on the Hilton Honors Floor but the room was very small. Our rate included a free breakfast which was buffet style. Loved the fact that I could make my own juice. Plenty of choice and plenty to eat....

Stayed here for 2 nights watching the Australian Open. What can I say, you can't beat the location. It takes 20 minutes walk to Tennis, so good. It's also close to so many nice restaurants along Degraves St, has a Woolworths and Coles around the corner. So convenient. Upon check-in, we were given some warm cookies, they're so yummy. There's...

I arrived late so I did not notice until the morning that there was no window behind the drawn curtains - nearly freaked me out. The immediate area around the hotel is a tad unsavoury. Lobby area nice, staff good. Breakfast was good.

Spent two nights here out of a two week vacation in Australia - by far the best sleep I had. Very clean and the bed, seriously comfortable! Small room size and i didnt face the Yarra River (which would have been sweet) but over all - great hotel. I also didnt get the buffet breakfast ($30 Aus) because you can...

During our 5 night stay, we were very pleased with the hotel. The room was nice and breakfast had a nice variety. Most importantly, the location was awesome as there were tons of shops, restaurants, etc... within a 10 minutes walk in the CBD. Also the Finders Street Subway Station is across the street for easy access. Our only complain...

Had a great stay at the doubletree Hilton in early feb. Got a great deal via their asia-oacific sale Fantastic aircon, quiet room despite being in a busy area. Welcome cookie and beverage on arrival. Can walk to all major city sights and cafes and restaurants. Location can't be beaten.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
