Stayed here mid to late November whilst visiting Melbourne. Rooms a little on the small side, but beautifully comfy beds. Front desk very friendly. The only downside was no free wi fi. Very good location to Southern Cross Station, and lots of restaurants/cafes nearby

Good location for where we wanted to go. The bed was so comfortable and we didn't hear any noise, very quiet. We will return. Would be fabulous for football games. Would recommend this hotel to our friends.

Staff were accommodating and helpful with useful directions to Docklands on a busy December evening. Basic style accommodation, no frills, with construction works & workers happening outside bedroom window. Breakfast great with a good range of options & we would stay here again.

Hotel ibis is perfect for a quick reasonably priced stay in the city! Rooms are quite basic but do the job! The room was well kept and very clean, staff were helpful and they accepted the early check out that I needed!

Perfect location for access to Etihad Stadium, wanted somewhere in safe walking distance for after a night time concert. Booked a twin room, clean and tidy, bed was very comfy. Bathroom also very clean. Check in, check out and other contact with front desk staff was excellent. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Free luggage storage or can pay for a locker.

Nice central location and in a little bit better condition than most for a mid-budget accommodation. Probably would have rated as 'average' but staff friendliness/helpfulness were enough to bring it up that extra star. If I was in Melbourne again on my own, would likely consider this place again.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
