My friend & I spent 2 nights in a front room with balcony. It was large, clean and well equiped with a great kitchen & a spa bath. the balcony was awesome because Lygon St has such a great vibe. the hotel is located right in...More
Stayed at the Lygon Lodge and found it to be the perfect location for places on the "other" side of the city. Easy walk to the Melbourne museum, Melbourne University, not hard to get to the zoo and many other places of interest. The access...More
Well, we travel extensively and usually use the large hotel chains but I wouldn't walk past the Lygon Lodge. Clean, spacious, friendly staff and value for money. Certainly not a 5 star hotel with Concierge, Travel desk and room service, but just a great place...More
There's no denying that this accommodation is centrally located for all the action in downtown Melbourne!

Great apartment. Location was excellent. Close to the city but far enough away to avoid city traffic. Room was great for the three nights we stayed. Bathroom is a little dated but the water pressure was excellent. The bed was a little soft but that...More

If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighborhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way
they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.

Hi Gilbert I believe the car parking was free but it was a fairly small car park....careful on the way in through the back lane and out again as it is a thoroughfare for other businesses. There is car parking elsewhere around the area. I was more nervous about getting a car park at the front reception for check in as it is a busy street and has trams etc but it all seemed to flow ok.
There is some parking and it is very handy in that area of the city. The parking is limited and a little crammed So small car ideal Give them a ring or email them letting them know that you would like a park.
