Stayed here to attend prelim final at MCG. Walking distance to MCG. Good value and great buffet breakfast included. Rooms are small but clean. Very old and dated. In need of renos and maintenance. Very quiet location close to trams to Melbourne CBD.

This place is pretty good for the price, but be aware when they say double bed it is just that - double. They are small rooms but incredibly clean. The staff and management are lovely and the breakfast is great. We wont be back but if you are looking for somewhere cheap and within easy walking distance to mcg -... More

The location is near gardens, the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the tennis centre and the river. The staff are nice and it is a good hotel for children. It is small and quaint. The breakfast was very adequate.

We have been staying at Magnolia Court since about 2001. We keep going back because of the location (close to the city and Rod Laver Arena) and the atmosphere. On our recent stay the pluses were that the bed was comfortable and everything was clean. However there is a creeping shabbiness - not only the décor which hasn't changed, but... More

Just around the corner from the Fitzroy and Treasury gardens and close to Jolimont station this hotel is nicely placed amongst old residential houses. Its an easy stroll while enjoying local architecture. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are suited for purpose and have windows that can be opened. The rooms are old but comfortable. The hotel has... More

The hotel is in good location near the city centre with tram stop close to the hotel. You can get accommodation for a good price but no to expect any luxury. Cleanness was just moderate, I did not tasted breakfast provided as I was leaving the hotel early in the morning.

Though the place is dated, we found our room to be exceptionally clean, bedsheets were fresh and laundered. Our room was big, and unlike other reviews, we did not hear other guests throughout the night. Parking could be a problem at the rear of hotel, but lots of parking in street. I guess we were lucky as we didn't receive... More

The Magnolia is located close to major venues, inner city major hospitals and parks. Our room was small but had everything we needed. Private, warm, comfortable beds and quiet . They have off street parking and breakfast included, served in the dining room. The old building has been renovated on a tight budget however many original characteristics have been retained... This hotel is so close to MCG and Rod Laver arena, within 5 minutes walk. City is about 8 minutes walk away. There is a small 7/11 on the next block as well. 3 minutes walk to train and tram stations. Rooms are very small and outdated. Bathroom small and outdated. Light fixtures are not secure and some power point... More

Stayed for a week, loved the building and neighborhood all the heritage structures. Yeah it has seen better days but as a place basically to sleep at, it fits the bill. Very basic breakfast but close to coffee places and public transport. Would stay here again for convenience.
