The hotel is in good location near the city centre with tram stop close to the hotel. You can get accommodation for a good price but no to expect any luxury. Cleanness was just moderate, I did not tasted breakfast provided as I was leaving the hotel early in the morning.

Though the place is dated, we found our room to be exceptionally clean, bedsheets were fresh and laundered. Our room was big, and unlike other reviews, we did not hear other guests throughout the night. Parking could be a problem at the rear of hotel, but lots of parking in street. I guess we were lucky as we didn't receive... More

The Magnolia is located close to major venues, inner city major hospitals and parks. Our room was small but had everything we needed. Private, warm, comfortable beds and quiet . They have off street parking and breakfast included, served in the dining room. The old building has been renovated on a tight budget however many original characteristics have been retained... This hotel is so close to MCG and Rod Laver arena, within 5 minutes walk. City is about 8 minutes walk away. There is a small 7/11 on the next block as well. 3 minutes walk to train and tram stations. Rooms are very small and outdated. Bathroom small and outdated. Light fixtures are not secure and some power point... More

Stayed for a week, loved the building and neighborhood all the heritage structures. Yeah it has seen better days but as a place basically to sleep at, it fits the bill. Very basic breakfast but close to coffee places and public transport. Would stay here again for convenience.

I was pleased given the price and location, was happy with the service I received, room was basic but clean, staff were friendly. This would be the perfect location if you staying in Melbourne and attending a football or other game1

Yes the room was small and dated but this is comparative with the moderate cost. The outside of the property is beautiful and we ate our breakfast included in the price on the patio overlooking green trees and historic homes. The staff could have been more friendly and engaging.

Hotel is in a nice Victorian building very near to the center of Melbourne. However the quality of the rooms and the hotel itself is poor. A refurbishment is needed! Breakfast is very poor an not tasty. Parking is free, but space is limited, so that you have to park one car behind the other. You have to leave the... More

A lovely trip back in time - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, the hotel is located in a lovely quiet inner city suburb, a short walk through Fitzroy Gardens to the city or take a tram from either end of the street. My spacious room had a full sized marble fireplace, period furniture, huge flat screen TV, microwave, toaster,... More
