Booked this hotel for a weekend for two couples in Melbourne. Booked and paid for a two bedroom apartment with two king beds. Explained that the room was for two couples. On arrival we were told that the hotel was overbooked and asked to move to another quest hotel in another Melbourne suburb much further out from the city. When... More

I have fond memories of staying here over 30 years however it has now lost its soul and charm. The carpets need replacing, toilet and taps leaked and the guests on the top floor woke me each night and morning with heavy feet on old floorboards. Housekeeping just do the basics ,attention to detail cleaning is poor ; mould in... More

This is my first time to stay in a serviced apartment rather than a hotel. Quest Gordon Place really made me feel like home. The kitchen in the room got everything you need to cook a dinner. The restaurant outside our room smells like home kitchen. I saw some negative feedback about the bathroom but the one in our room... More

We stayed in an apartment here for a month. The old building is charming. The apartment was a simple modern box, kept clean and tidy by willing staff. The management too was responsive to occasional needs. And best of all, it was a great place to set out from, for food, shopping, to see the sights, as well as other... More

We stayed there for business and were put in what was at first viewing a very nice room (room 24) with a bedroom, big lounge and separate kitchen. Nicely appointed but that's where it stops. The TV did not work properly at all. Very poor signal and most of the time no signal. There was suppose to be Wi-Fi in... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
