If this hotel was $30 a night it would be helpful, because you would have some idea of what you are getting (probably not really worth that much though). You get a tiny room which only just fits a bunk bed, and a tv on the wall which is so close to the end of the bed, that half of... More

you certainly get what you pay for. the rooms are a great price but the size of the rooms are not as great. it is not reasonable to have the bathroom seperate to your hotel room as it is just easier to get to when you have it in your room

This is probably the best service I have ever experienced in the budget hotel. The staff is very helpful and considerate. They always very polite and smile. It was raining when I checked in, they provided me with an umbrella without asking. It's very clean in common area and the breakfast is simple but fresh. Location is like 3mins walk... More

Toilets and showers were very clean and located down corridors. No queuing. Clean rooms and bed sheets. Breakfast basic but with free flow of coffee and tea, Reasonable price for stay in the centre of South Yarra - close to Botanical Gardens (15 minutes walk) and to the commuter station (5 minutes walk). There are many good places to eat... More

It was July and I was staying there alone whilst in Melbourne to attend a conference. It was cheap and perfect for a solo traveller. But it would also be good for groups since the dorms have 6 beds. Thankfully I got a room to myself. It was warm and the bed was comfortable, but the top bunk was too... More

Clean sheets, clean rooms. Good place to stay if you're solo and need a cheap bed for the night. Booked on trip advisor while heading into Melbourne on the train. The couple on the desk were nice and organised my room to be separate from a school group coming in later that evening. The toilets and showers are clean.

I nearly always stay here or in their flats around the corner when in Melbourne. Have stayed by myself, with a family member or two and with large groups. Always terrific value and great service. The location is brilliant, out of the city but just two stops on the train or a short ride on the tram. Lots and lots... More

I stayed here in January for 4 nights and although it was peak season and therefore more expensive, it was still cheaper than other places and I have not one single regret about staying here. I stayed in a 6 person room. It had comfortable beds, sizable lockers, and good bathrooms just a 5 second walk down the corridor. Breakfast... More

We stayed there for 2 nights and it was a right choice for first days. Location is perfect. Tram and train station just in few minutes walk; you can ride to the CBD by tram for 30 minutes or event can walk through the harbor and Royal botanical gardens for 1 hour. We booked a private twin room and it... More

I was in the 1-2 person bunk bedroom for 3 nights, wouldn't want to be in there for much longer. Space was not a problem, all listed items were present, including a bar fridge, but with only a window for ventilation it was very stuffy in summer. Air does not flow with one open window. There was a pedestal fan... More

Staying in Chapel Street

Neighborhood Profile
Chapel Street
Seek and ye shall find! Prahran is a treasure hunter’s paradise of vintage stores, upscale boutiques and emporiums. Chapel Street is a one-stop shop with specialty stores selling just about everything. The famous Chapel Street Bazaar has so many curious and vintage knick-knacks that you will feel as if you're in a huge and busy museum. By contrast, at the northern end of Chapel Street, South Yarra and Windsor cater to high-end designer labels and exclusive boutiques. The community flocks to Prahran’s organic markets as a Saturday ritual, while art and film students leaf through vinyl LPs on Greville Street. The gay community also has a strong presence here. Prahran’s heritage buildings like the Reads Emporium and Prahan arcade offer a grand sense of scale and history. No matter your interest, come feel the pulse of one of Melbourne’s most loved precincts.
