Location is central to everything we needed to do in the City. We arrived early & our rooms were available straight away. The room had 2 king size singles & enough space for both of us. Breakfast was included & was a good sized buffet style breakfast. We were departing late in the day so had to store our luggage... More

I recently stayed at the Ibis , Victoria Hotel for a football final weekend. I got a good deal for Two nights and arrived with no amount of expectation. Firstly, arrived at 10 am and the room was ready so had an early check in which was great. Very easy check in and I mentioned I was an Accord member,... More

On my last Melbourne, I had stayed at the Ibis Styles Melbourne, The Victoria Hotel due to close proxity to my business partner's office location. The hotel is in a suitable location where you can take public transport like trains and trams. The hotel is also walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars and amenities. Bed and linen are clean, and... More

A weekend in the city brought us here, where we had met friends for drinks numerous times in the past. Our room was OK, facing on to Little Collins Street, and 8 floors up, which still left it at the mercy of Swanston Street buskers late at night. (They were very good actually!) Breakfast was OK, though at an adjacent... More

Stayed at the Vic last November - staying again in the 10th Oct - Great location, excellent service, discrete housekeeping, everything was A+ . We also booked complimentary breakfast - well worth the money - lots of choices. Great inner city accommodation .

Cold wet September night in Melbourne and there is no heat. A/c unit blows out cyclonic winds (on low), it is in very poor condition and doesn't go above 16 degrees. TV remote did not work, pen provided for comments was busted, carpet on stairs was threadbare and not much better in the room. Will not be back here again.... More

Stayed for 4 nights recently. The room was made ready early for me by prior arrangement which was great because i flew in early hours on that morning. I was able to unpack and refresh before heading out again. The room had all the basic comforts that you need and a very nice bathroom. The only downside was no free... More

If you're looking for a place which is just a walking distance to shopping and restaurants, this is the place. You may have to take a taxi if you want to go to other big shopping areas like DFO etc. Nevertheless, the place is reasonably located, providing free wifi (limited speed though), comfortable room, friendly staff, with adjoining restaurant for... Myself and hubby booked what we knew was going to be a basic room at a very good price, that included breakfast. It didn't disappoint. Room was much bigger then average with clean bathroom. Our room was located some distance from the lifts, including stairs. If you are staying and mobility is an issue make sure you get a room... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
