We (2 adults and 2 teenage children) stayed here for 5 nights. There is no doubt that this hotel is centrally located. If you dont want to waste time taking a tram/bus/car to the city, this hotel is perfect although it is not cheap. The only drawback is you have to pay to store luggage.

Stayed in a 3 bed heritage room, floor 8 room 8104! Great size room with 3 friends Situated at the back of the hotel . Beds were super comfy, we slept soundly, til noisy guests yelled at one another from one end of the corridor to the other at 5.30 am. Then another lot of guests left at 6 am.... More

Great location. Clean and warm rooms. Very Art Deco. Don't bother booking breakfast. Nothing special. Very disappointed to have to pay to store luggage while waiting for a plane. Aside from this would recommend the hotel for a fun weekend as its location is very central.

If you need just a hotel bed for a few nights then this is the one. Centrally located, clean and safe. A tourist hotel with the basics. Recommended for short stays without the luxury of the more expensive hotels. Great value for money though!.

Stayed in Melbourne for an AFL trip for 9 days in July. This hotel fulfilled all our needs and more. I've seen some bad reviews on here about The Victoria and really don't understand why. The location is fantastic, the rooms are clean and a lot more spacious than some on here are claiming. The beds are comfortable. The hotel... More

Ibis Styles is located conveniently in the heart of Melbourne cbd and can be easily accessible by the free trams. The rooms are clean and suitably equipped and I would say it's value-for-money for its location. However, what caught me by surprise is that they don't offer complimentary baggage deposit for early check-out and we had to use the locker... More

Had a really lovely stay here at the start of my trip to Australia. Room was huge and facilities were excellent for a very reasonable price. Pool was small but lovely and the spa and sauna were both excellent. Really great place to recover from jet lag. The street the hotel is on has some really nice little restaurants which... More

I've stayed at The Vic many times and never had a problem. For a relatively cheap hotel, in the CBD, it's great. The chocolates I forgot to take with me were mysteriously "melted" before I cud fone and ask for them to be passed to my daughter and two ladies were expected to share a queen size bed..... I was... Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
