Had a great time in a king room. Apart from the floor being extremely creaky and the stairs being very loud, I enjoyed the time I stayed there and the attentiveness of the staff. The bed was very comfortable and the room service staff were professional and friendly.

I stayed here with my mother for two nights - we had a queen size bed each and we both found the beds and pillows amazingly comfortable. I actually took a photo of the pillow label so I could buy one for home! The room was air-conditioned perfectly. We had so much space - even a very large dressing room!!... More

the hotel staff are very friendly, helpful and professional, the room is clean, and the food in One Eleven is delicious. The hotel facilities are old, I stayed on 2nd floor, the pressure of shower water is not stable (up and down), resulting water temperature sometimes too hot or too cold during shower. Overall, I like this hotel, I may... More

The service was fantastic with directions to landmarks and restaurants making a first time traveller to Melbourne feel confident. The rooms were well appointed, clean and comfortable. Effort has been made in regards to the aesthetics and it shows. Location is excellent! Will be staying again.

Lovely hotel close to everything you need while on a short stay away from home. Concierge opened the taxi door on arrival & got our suitcases which were sent straight to our room. Check in was fast and staff very friendly. Room was spacious and clean. Only downside was that the hotel needs an overall update but still wouldn't stop... More

Lovely grand hotel with very attentive staff. We visited for my husbands birthday and the staff acknowledged this at check in and delivered a little cake (yummy chocolate moose cake) and card to the room compliments of the hotel. We would definitely stay again.

This is a fantastic place very grand, and we got a cheap deal to stay here. Our room size reflected the price, but it was immaculate and the bed very comfortable. The staff were outstanding and very welcoming, especially the doorman. Breakfast was good, but service didn't come up to the standard of the other staff. The location is great... More

What a grand old dame she is! The staff were efficient and helpful. Our room was comfortable and charming. Breakfast was delicious and the dining room stunning. I hope the heritage and style is not lost on the new tower and renovation. It would be a sad loss for Melbourne.

Absolutely love the charm and old fashioned service. Breakfast was simply stunning and served to you with efficient and friendly service. My most favourite place to stay in all of Melbourne, this is what all hotels should be like.

If you like old world charm and service, this is the hotel for you. The staff are perfect, not over the top and there when you need them - nothing is a trouble. Located opposite parliament, with trams a few steps away everything is in easy reach. Just lovely!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
