I stayed for about a week, and it was really convenient as it is right at the City Center! The hotel also gives a great deal of stress in ensuring that your stay is eco-friendly. The in-room services were understandably expensive. I would recommend asking for west facing rooms as it has better views & and from the first 3... More

Situated right in the heart of the city, the hotel is great for engaging with the city of 'lanesway culture' of entertainment, F&B outlets and shopping. Staff were attentive to our needs and elite membership rewarded with room upgrades which was a great treat even if I wasn't able to fully enjoy it since was on business. I arrived early... More

I stayed six nights in August for business travel over a weekend. Overall stay was great. Room and bathroom were nicely appointed, spacious and clean. Breakfast buffet excellent. Services like running concierge helpful. Central location meant easy walking distance to client as well as shopping and fantastic choice of dining. Highlight was the inimitable level of service provided by Ian... More

We stayed for two nights at the hotel. The location is excellent with lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The tourist information centre is in the Federation Square area that is opposite to the hotel. The check-in process was efficient. The staff at the reception counter and conceigne are knowledgeable and the professional advice they gave was helpful.... More

Stayed for Saturday night on SPG points. Check in was quick and efficient, room was excellent. Very big room, great bathroom, all the facilities we could need. Free mineral water and brewed coffee in the room. Great dual shower, normal and rain shower and an excellent big bath (that could, perhaps, benefit from a bath mat to stop slipping down).... More

The hotel service was wonderful -- from special technology needs (needing powerpoint and traveling without my laptop) to daily interaction with the staff and concierge were exceptional, even among other Westin hotels were we have stayed.

Beautiful night in The Westin... Had dinner plans with friends and decided at the last minute to stay in the city overnight. Have always enjoyed a drink at the bar here but never stayed before. The room was lovely, the bed felt like resting on a cloud and the linen soft. The small balcony had stunning views of Collins Street... More

We stayed at the Westin for a night during our short vacation to Melbourne and enjoyed every bit of it. Very centrally located, large and comfortable rooms in a modern environment. Highly recommend. Nice breakfast as well, not to forget the very nice welcome fruit and nut plate upon arrival.

I have stayed at the Westin Melbourne for many years and always loved returning to the freshly-scented, pristine decor and wonderful service. However, my latest visit revealed things are not as good as they used to be. I experienced an overall deterioration and cost-cutting. The corridors are no longer scented with the fresh deodoriser which was a Westin Melbourne ‘signature’... More

Stayed at the Westin for business for several nights. The room was large with a comfortable bed, a huge bath and a great view over Collins/Swanston Streets (the sound of trams don't bother me at all but if you are a light sleeper I recommend asking for a room that doesn't face the road). The staff were helpful and courteous... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
