Went to Melbourne to attend to our business conference and decided to take more time to visit my old grounds. My stay was so much joyous by selecting this hotel. From the very moment I put my foot down I was met with the kindness and respect. My check in process was flawless, not to mention super warm advice from the concierge gentleman who happened to notice a small damage that happened to my gourmet. He brought it to my attention and attempted to fix it immediately. My room was upgraded in recognition of my membership to one of the highest level rooms. The actual room was very attractive and had lovely views. Great ambience, location, quality of finished, service are the least I could mention. Thank you Sofitel for making my stay so much better. Oops, almost forgot the men, I had a very late flight back home and I was allowed to remain in the room till 1pm without the additional charge!
Thank you very much for your fantastic feedback. I am extremely pleased to know that you had a very pleasant stay and enjoyed our high level of service. We are dedicated to constantly improve our services and your positive words are much appreciated by everyone here. I do hope that we have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins.

    Wonderful stay
Summary of review - Service was great, generosity is evident, room is clean and comfortable. My husband and I stayed at Sofitel on Collins from 1 Jan to 3 Jan 2020 with our son to celebrate his first birthday. We are very grateful and pleased with their generosity and impeccable service. Full review - The staff knew the occasion we were celebrating, and sent us an Ethan teddy bear (exclusive to Sofitel on Collins) and a bottle of wine after checking in. Valet parking is $55 per day. When we got to our room, the cot wasn't set up yet, but we went out for a walk and the cot was set up by the time we returned. They left another bear in the cot for our little one! They also gave him a colouring pack. There is a tram just outside the hotel which is convenient for exploring the city. Service was impeccable and thoughtful. Room service offered to turn down our bed in the evening, and gave us a little spray bottle of lavender to help us relax for sleep. Overall, the room was very comfortable. It was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. They have a pillow menu to choose from which was a nice touch. The walls are a bit thin; both nights, we had neighboring rooms playing music very loudly late at night to early morning - our son stirred a few times from the noise. We didn't make a complaint because we didn't want to risk waking our son further. However, we mentioned it to front desk at check out, and they apologised, noting that they will place us further from populated areas the next time we visit. I was very disappointed that the desserts on their restaurant menu wasn't available for room service, but was able to get a reservation their restaurant No 35 through American Express Concierge. We tried to get a reservation on site, but was told that they were fully booked. When we got to the restaurant, another couple walked in and the restaurant was able to offer them a table while letting them know that they need the table back by a certain time. We felt rather disappointed about this contradiction, but didn't dwell on it because the food there was excellent. The wait staff were very helpful (albeit sometimes not as attentive probably because it was a busy time). The highlight though, was when the brought out a little birthday dessert surprise for our son! He loved it, and we were again impressed by their generosity. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we left on a high. We will definitely be back.
Thank you for telling us about your experience at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins. It is wonderful to know that we met your expectations across many levels. I will ensure your kind words are shared with everyone. We look forward to seeing you again on your future visits to Melbourne.

    LUXURY ROOM CLUB SOFITEL 23/12/19
Where to start! This hotel was amazingly positioned at the end of the free tram zone, with the stop being right outside the hotel and some lovely high end shops within a short walking distance. The hotel has valet parking, which is a bonus and unloading the luggage and sorting out the parking was effortless. We had booked early check in and late check out, so we arrived at around 9am and checked out just before 5pm the following day. The hotel reception is on the first floor, which is accessed via an escalator. Check in was quick and easy and both the reception and valet staff were very friendly. After check in, we took the lift up to the 48th floor. The view down over the atrium is absolutely amazing! Our room had beautiful views over the east side of Melbourne (including the MCG) the room was spacious with everything we needed. The club Sofitel lounge (35th floor) had wonderful views over the city, with lovely staff and a great selection of food and drinks available. When we visited again (early evening) the lady even remembered our names! You really need to check out the view from the toilets near the bar on floor 35! It’s on our list to stay here again on our next trip to Melbourne
It is fabulous to hear that you enjoyed your stay and we are delighted to know that you enjoyed all aspects of it, especially the quality of our Club Sofitel as well as the comfort of our rooms. We appreciate your kind feedback about our team and we will ensure this is shared. We look forward to welcoming you again soon.

Loved the dinner experience at 35 Sofitel gifted by our son after his graduation. Ajitesh, Rosalee, Bryan and Marikee in the bar are super people who went out of their way to make it a special occasion♥️♥️ Small gestures mean a lot and Ajitesh and Rosalee made it so special for us. A def must do experience on 35th floor with food par excellence💕

Had the most amazing stay again at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins. Our daughter joined us this time to celebrate her birthday with us. We upgraded to a Junior Suite for a little extra room for the 3 of us, which was well worth the extra cost. The view up the Yarra and out to the bay was incredible! The rooms were refurbished recently and look fantastic. We also had Club Sofitel access which never disappoints. The service is amazing, the staff are so welcoming and we thoroughly emjoyed the afternoon tea, evening drinks and canapes and breakfast in the Club the next morning. Everything about the stay was perfect and as always, I didn't want to leave. Thank you!

Hotel room was great! Staff amazing….BUT avoid no 35 restaurant on Level 35. Hubby took me there for a “special birthday dinner” which I was so looking forward to, but bitterly disappointed! Food was very average and we waited over an hour for our entree! Food very ordinary and serve super slow. Certainly way over priced for ordinary food and super slow service! They “seemed” short staff because we had to queue for breakfast as they didn’t have enough staff to clear the tables and turn them over quick enough to manage the queue! Next time we would go outside locally for both dinner and breakfast! We met an English family on holiday who had the very same experience, overpriced for very ordinary food and sloppy service! Won’t be returning!

Decided to stray from Park Hyatt and see our other options and settled on Sofitel Melbourne. Location is bang on. Tram stop right out the front of the hotel. Valet very attentive upon arrival. We opted for a package with a deluxe room which included the mini bar, buffet breakfast, a bottle of red or white and tickets to the art gallery. Greeted with mulled wine upon arrival which was nice. We found the bathrooms quite small compared to the Park Hyatt with a shower over bath. Breakfast was the usual with nothing to write home about. Disappointed the waffles and crepes were store bought and not made in house. Had to ask for refills on things like tomatoe sauce, cream etc. We had in-room dining which was lovely and fresh and we'd definitely like to try the restaurant for dinner one night. Could not find the pool! Keep in mind the elevators dont operate from the ground floor after a certain time. We stood there for a good 10 minutes waiting then had to go upstairs. Some signage would be good. Dan from Concierge arranged the return of my pillow which I accidently left behind. He was super helpful. Glad we tried it!

We had breakfast and went out for the day, returning to the room in the evening to find the bedroom door latched WIDE OPEN with all our possessions on view!! After speaking with the duty manager Tanya, an investigation was done and we got a “sorry” that’s it !!! Pretty unacceptable for a 5 star hotel. Won’t be coming back .. disappointing!!

The staff here are always excellent and it's the small attention to detail that always leaves me feeling happy when I stay here. For example when working from the hotel room I tend to use a lot of the Nespresso pods - However they were replenished each evening during the turndown service and obviously someone made a note on my file that I get through a lot of pods as the next morning they were overflowing out of the box all without having to make a single call or having to request more. The ability to use the ipad to request room service make up the room as you're about to step out or to collect a room service tray all without having to phone reception is also another touch that seems minor but really enhances the stay.

We had a lovely one night staycation as a family of three at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins and it was the perfect location to explore our own city despite Melbourne's freezing Wintery conditions! We are fortunate to be Accor Silver Members and enjoyed a room upgrade on the 48th floor with a spectacular view of the city and bay. From our first interaction with the reception staff, all the staff encountered were exceptionally professional and welcoming. A real credit to the Sofitel brand. We enjoyed cocktails in the Atrium Bar and a great breakfast at No. 35 with a definite French flair to the offerings. We last stayed at the hotel many years ago and were pleased to see that the rooms have undergone very tasteful upgrades and have a real "luxe" feel about them. They were also very clean and well maintained. The beds were sightly uncomfortable but we loved the pillow menu options available. It's a lovely hotel to stay at with some quaint callbacks to the 1990s with some of the architecture and decor in the main areas. There is particularly a feeling of spaciousness in the hotel which is lacking in the more recent hotel builds. We will definitely be back!
