We stayed at Rydges Exhibition Street for 9 nights to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The location is amazing for getting around Melbourne's fantastic restaurants, galleries, theatres and shopping centres. We had a 1 bedroom apartment and it was really spacious and contained all we could ask for - including a huge bathroom and massive bath, excellent walk in robe,...

Great hotel for the price. No in house movies, which is a disappointment, and the shower head was placed too close to the wall making it hard to get wet all over. But overall, nice room and comfortable bed. Room service was also reasonably priced.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to Her Majesty's Theatre (and price) and we weren't disappointed. The location was great (right across the road from the theatre and just down the street from trams/shopping area). The staff/service was excellent and the hotel had a great energetic vibe (I think the hotel is popular for groups of friends), especially...

We stayed at the Rydges for one night and although the service was great and the room was ok (bathrooms are a bit small and tv is quite small), the noise was really what didn't make the stay so enjoyable. The walls have to be paperthin as we could hear everything from the next room loud and clear. It turned...

I stay regularly and have seen big improvements over last year. Short walk from everything in melbourne including trams, cabs and city loop train stations, can park centrally with all these services and enjoy. New menus, excellent service and happy hour. Free WIFI and a small business centre makes our work easy. Recommend to anyone but book early.

Dear csob85, Thank you for the great review, it's a pleasure to read that you feel the hotel has improved over the past year. Keep an eye out for our new fiber wifi in the new year, even faster than what we currently have, and still free! Look forward to seeing you next time you come through Melbourne! Kind Regards,...

We had booked a Monday night and received confirmation. Next day received the offer of Sunday at half price so we took that offer. I also joined the Rydges Priority Guest Club. When we arrived we were greeted and it was said were staying for one night, I corrected the staff and they found the second night booking. They could...

I stayed a couple of nights at Rydges in Melbourne. On a superficial review it is a well located but otherwise ordinary city hotel with pokey rooms, especially tight bathrooms and maids who do not re-issue items like shampoo - seems I was expected to make it last! Definitely wouldn’t suit Stuart. However it has two highly redeeming ‘features’. The...

Dear Sydneysida, Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Firstly, sorry to hear you had a bad experience with our house keepers, I can assure you they are supposed to replenish the room amenities each day, it seems like there is a lack of attention to detail here and I will be sure to follow it up...

Stayed here again and loved it. Just a few points for comment. What happened to the foot stools in the room? I've noticed they have been removed. Please bring them back. I like the new touches but leaving the Ikea and Freedom labels on everything from mugs to bathroom pot plant isn't a good look. The one only bright new...

Dear Andyoz, Great to have you back through the hotel! Always love hearing from our regulars albeit in this instance with a few improvements needed. Absolutely agree with you on the Ikea labels being left on the items, I will speak to the team to ensure this attention to detail is better moving forward. I will also look at additional...

The twin room was small, with 2 standard size single beds, 1 bedside table, no shelves or drawers, 1 desk chair and 1 easy chair. It looked as if the beds should have been pushed together to make a queen size bed because the light switches for the bed lights were behind the pillows. There was no safe in the...

Dear Stuart45, I am sorry to read you didn't feel your stay was up to standard, firstly I can assure you our focus is on guest experience and a high level of both cleanliness and service. Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
