Had a fantastic time here! Stayed for two nights with my mother for a function across the road in the ballroom and experienced amazing service. Rooms were quiet and beautiful and front desk assistants were some of the best I had experiences and assisted us in all the things we needed to have an amazing first time to Melbourne! Will... More

This place was hidden but so surprising. The reception staff members were exceptional in handling any queries leading up to and during our stay. They were bright and friendly throughout. We were made warm and welcome before we arrived with a phone call and this pattern continued throughout the stay. The bed was so comfortable. The room was such a... More

The apartments are spacious and well appointed. The kitchen is large enough and fully equipped to make self catering a breeze. The bedroom was a good size but the wardrobe space is on the smaller side and had a box shelf taking up floor space. The main sitting area is a large space and has small dining area as part... More

Accommodation was at a good price - within our budget for 5 days in Melbourne. Apartments are central and very convenient to CBD, Federation Square, Galleries, Lanes and Arcades etc. Also very quiet, despite proximity to CBD as room was at the back of building. Good amenities - everything we needed; very clean & comfortable with daily clean towels etc.... More

My dad and I wanted to go to Melbourne for a big sports weekend. We chose one of the cheapest apartments and best quality. We got breakfast most days that were very nutritious and very yummy. We had our bed made everyday except Sunday when the staff have the day off. Overall a very good stay.

If you're like me, and love to catch all the theatre shows in Melbourne, then Adara Collins is the perfect place as it's right across the road from the Regent Theatre. I stayed in a studio apartment and was drawn in particular to the was the way the building has still retained its old original charm. Solid brick structure and... More

My wife and I had a function to attend in the City last weekend, so we booked in for two nights. Prior to booking we asked if we could see an apartment as my wife needs a walk in shower "without steps". No problem. We were shown two apartments where everything was to our liking, and asked were the apartments... More

The location was great, couldn't have been better. I've seen some people say that Adara it is hard to find/spot and I would have to disagree. We booked a studio apartment and we were upgraded to the one bedroom apartment. Even though we appreciated the upgrade, we found that the one bedroom in reality was quite small compared to the... We were really pleased with our 2 night stay at the Adara. It's always a bit hit and miss booking an apartment in a city you have little knowledge of and I can happily say this was a hit! Our friends who were staying in another room joined us for in room drinks and there was enough space & seating... More

This hotel is tucked away next to the Athenaeum Theatre, council does not allow for a large sign, hence my title. The reception staff are very attentive, even, each time you enter or exit the building....loved that. We had a one bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor, no view, but, we are in the middle of the city, and were... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
