Mold throughout our bathroom! Our bench top was melted! The balcony, barely considered a balcony! More just an out door step, dangerous as it would be very easy to trip! Cups were stained and disgusting, Kitchen was unpleasing, as was the whole stay. Our double bed was just two singles placed together, which resulted in my partner falling through in...

The Nova Star gate apartments in Franklin Street Melbourne are very comfortable, reasonably priced and quite close to all Melbourne attractions. The units are okay-not luxurious but with a microwave, toaster and fridge are ideal to have a quick snack or breakfast. The bed is comfortable. Parking is $18.00 extra and safe. A Cantonese restaurant is next door and very...

I booked a two bedroom apartment for one night stay. I wasn't impressed with the state of the room when I checked in. Room & Facility: The two bedroom apartment size is standard. Beds are quite comfortable. However, the apartment could be benefit with splashes of paint to make it brighter. The toilet is leaking. No one picked up the...

We stayed here for 2 nights. It is in a good location and close to the tram lines. The staff at reception were friendly and efficient. Our room looked like it may have been upgraded. It was clean and the bed was comfy. The only downside was that it was next to the lift so a bit noisy

Stayed for one night, just a basic room, lack cleanliness. Not worth the money. No recommendations. Only good thing about it was the location - inside CBD, very close to the market. Lots of restaurants nearby.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
