The location is excellent and the rates okay. The room was large but essentially had no natural light (our only window was up against a multi-storey car park), the toilet leaked and the much lauded coffee was undrinkable. Staff were clearly learning the ropes but they were pleasant and helpful.
Just spent a fabulous night at Hotel Lindrum. We have had many enjoyable nights at MGallery hotels, and this is up there with the best. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful room overlooking Flinders Street. Complete with steps with to our spacious room with king size bed, chaise longe, large bathroom, there were T2 teas and The option of having fresh ground coffee brought to your room for your plunger. Our check-in process was both efficient and Personal. I have to admit we were upgraded because of a birthday. And the staff were very sweet about my celebrations. Of course the other aspect to the hotel is its famous billiard table. But the breakfast was pretty good as well. The hotel is clean, there is a lift, the bed was comfortable, shower big and pillows very fluffy. Overall pretty hard to fault.…
As this was our first evening away in Melbourne since Covid began, we were hoping that as this hotel is listed as 5 star it would be a wonderful night. This hotel is certainly not 5 star. The grout in the bathroom has mould showing around it. Paint work is very chipped in the rooms and dirty. No bottled water. The hot water in the shower would not stay hot. When using the lift it was not a very nice experience as it sounded like there were loose wires each time it went up or down. Other people in the lift also commented on this. The lift also had a very strong smell of urine in it. On a positive note, the staff at the front desk were lovely, very well trained and accommodating. In conclusion, we would not stay at this hotel again and not recommend it as a place to stay.
Stayed here a while ago and it was perfect. This time was awful 1). The parking used to be right next door. Now it’s in Flinders Lane. Mammoth hike between the two. Checking out I was told to just turn left and take the lane between. Mountain of stairs followed by more stairs. 2). The room was dated and shabby. Holes in things like the lampshades. Furniture old and tired. Finish poor- ie electrical plugs not square etc. Felt like a big box. Bathroom was also old and dated. Bits missing. 3). TV was free to air and had issues even with that. 4). Menu had “V” for vegan options….. but no Vegan options. I’ve stayed in cheap motels in the middle of nowhere with better rooms.
A long weekend in Melbourne to catch up with friends, clients and some family. Nice to get back on a plane and do some traveling. Enjoyed a number of quality restaurants in Melbourne and traveled up to the Dandenong’s.
I work in travel and visit many hotels. I stayed at the Lindrum last night even though I live in Melbourne. My daughter was having party at home, so my wife and decided to have a night out in our city. We chose the Lindrum based on location, style and reviews and were not disappointed. Fantastic customer service from the moment we arrived, stylish decor and comfortable rooms. But I what most impressed me most was as soon as I came downstairs for breakfast, I was seated and offered coffee and juice. The coffee arrived swiftly and was excellent. Breakfast was great too and then the waiter noticed I had finished my coffee and asked if I'd like another one, which also arrived promptly. That is not the norm in Australian hotels. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Excellent service and great spot close to everything. Breakfast was lovely but Coffees could’ve been a bit hotter when requested for extra hot. Car parking at the Collins place Wilson park is our favourite parking spot. Great space and easy access.
Stylish Hotel and excellent customer service. Fabulous location at the 'Paris' end of town. Transport options abound and easy walk to cultural and sport attractions. The rooms are stylish and beautifully furnished. I loved it!
This is our go to place to stay when in Melbourne, its in a great location, easy parking and access to public transport - trams out the front. Welcome gift is always lovely as Accor members and the free drink is always appreciated. We stayed with some friends this time and recommended the hotel, they were blown away with how happy, friendly and engagement all the staff are and they will be back for sure.
My wife and I booked this hotel for two nights for the Australian Open. It was a our first time to stay in Melbourne City so we wanted a 5-star hotel and that was conveniently close to the Australian Open located away from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne CBD and was looking for a quaint place - Hotel Lindrum ticked all those boxes. Positives: 1. Location, location, location: quiet and close to the Australian Open. . Easily walk to Yarra River, Treasury Gardens, Botanical Gardens and many restaurants and cafes 2. 24/7 concierge with friendly and polite staff. You feel safe going back to the hotel late at night after watching a long tennis match 3. Love the quaint, boutique, heritage style building, elegant wooden flooring and interior look. Negatives: 1. Unfortunately, our view from the window was the cark park on the left side of the building. We needed to close the curtains the lights were on all night & you could hear the cars coming in & out, tire screeching etc. 2. Fridge does not close properly (not overly concerned with this) 4. The water pressure is a problem, not sure if it's just our room or the whole building. During peak hour the shower was just trickling and hot water was fluctuating. Hope they can fix the water pressure as it is a good little quite place. Best to book the delux room 1 king size bed with city view which is located at front of the hotel, but that comes with a price difference.…
