Grand Hyatt was the perfect stay for my Partner and I as a little getaway for his 21st. The hotel is in a great location, staff were very helpful well telling us about things to do on our stay and our room was sensational!

On check in at 4pm we were told our room was on level 23 with the newborn babies and mums just out of hospital. After asking for a room on another level as we did not want to woken through the night by newborns, we were told we could go to the club level at an extra $250. How outrageous!...

We were so incredibly well looked after by the staff at every stage. The staff made our stay so special, from offering to send me up hot tea with honey for my cold, to noticing immediately when I went to leave the dining area without my bag! The breakfasts were so amazing, I think I'd go back just for the...

Check in went fast and great staff at the desk. The room was a suite with good views over the city. The bed was so comfortable and spacious. The only small problem was it took a little while for our cases to come up. We had the continental breakfast and there was plenty, but you had to hunt for things,...

Pipes in walls were very loud and noises in hallways were easily heard. Staff were friendly and the facilities were modern and clean. Great gym equipment and conference rooms. Very comfortable beds. Part of the stay were fabulous and other average at best.

At three days old my granddaughter had had her first stay at the Grand Hyatt. After my daughter in law gave birth at the Royal Women's , Francis Perry ward she was relocated on Day 2 to the Grand Hyatt Melbourne to rooms allocated to the maternity ward from Frances Perry. I have stayed at the Hyatt often around Australia...

I was recently involved with a conference at the Grand Hyatt and was disappointed by the physical access. Problem 1 is getting through the front doors on Collins Street. Mobility aid users have to wait until someone comes along to open the 2 doors to get into the main lobby area. Once inside, the registration desk is not "user friendly"...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
