a wonderful stay at the grand hyatt, it was a very clean and new room with a super comfortable bed. Great place to stay for on business or just a relaxing night away. The food i hear is amazing which unfortunately we didn't have time to try and the breakfast in bed was delightful.

From our arrival, late on a Friday evening, the service was exceptional - the highlight of the two day stay was the wonderful staff. We had a Club Deluxe Room room - it was large and had a spectacular but limited view of Flinders Street Station and the river (26th Floor). The bed was very comfy and in fact probably... More

The Grand Hyatt in Melbourne is parading around pretending to be a 5 star Hotel but this is all a mirage. It's a fantasy. It's a hoax. It's simply not true folks. There seems to be some confusion upon check in relation to the blocking of monies on a guests credit card. I was told and have an email confirming that it... More

As mentioned in my initial comments. I was extremely disappointment in this particular trip to the Grand Hyatt. I have stayed in the hotel numerous times and I have loved it each time. This was a very special evening for my partner and I and I had arranged a beautiful room (paying $515 for a room that indicated corner location).... More

Comfy bed, Large Bathroom. I Like the room layout, has lots of working space and spreadout sofas. The best is the Excellent location, very close to shops CBD. Good service both at the reception and concierge helping our luggages. Will return.

High standard hotel with lovely staff! Walked into the room and it was immaculate with no problems what so ever! Really happy with this hotel. Close to everything! Really great location and amazing building. Can't wait to come here again and experience it all over. Even though it's very expensive it's definitely 5 star and worth it.

The place is great! Located inside the city, you have an easy access to everything. I mean what else do you need? Great view from the rooms and as I wrote before, very easy to access anything and go everywhere because of it's location inside the city. Best hotel in the city!

My daughter and I stayed here for The Australian Open last week for 5 nights and found this hotel to be fabulous. Really convenient to tram (2 stops to Melbourne Park). We were greeted in our room with a wonderful surprise for my birthday and it just kept getting better. Breakfast buffet covered any dietary requirement and all the food... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
