In a great location, this a hip, laid back and friendly hotel which is both quiet and interesting in it's layout. The great breakfast bar next to the lobby serves great food at great prices and the staff are attentive and friendly. We stayed for four days and our little boy inadvertently left his much-loved stuffed red panda in the...

I really enjoyed this hotel. The room was small but clean and offered everything I needed. The bed and pillows were comfortable, blinds dark, shower hot. Front desk service was very good. All in all, a great experience for the price and location. Would definitely recommend.

If you are visiting Melbourne, please try out Pensione! Great location! Convenient! I enjoyed my stay. Such a warm welcome by the staff, with a note and chocolates once you enter your room! The room is small but it's worth the price. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The property was clean but built to maximise revenue. On entering the room I noted the tidy appearance but could not open the wardrobe as it was blocked by the foot of the bed. The bathroom was very narrow in width and whilst I am a small person I had to stand side on to access the shower. too bad...

It was a great place to stay. Very close to southern cross station, tram station and major tourist attractions. Hotel was quite, clean and tidy. staff were extremely friendly. Only disappointing experience was bathrooms. they are not locking properly and i doubt anyone with extra pounds can fit in there. P.S : if there is an Armageddon, dont rely on...

Everything is good for the hotel, espesially the location, very strategy and convenience. It very close to the tram station and southern cross station. The only one thing that make me felt abit dissappointed is the hotel's bathroom, it too small. By the way, except the bathroom, everything is quite good. Still can recommend to other.

I liked staying here. Room was tiny as described but twin beds which are hard to find. Located so close to transport eateries tram and city... walkable. Clean as a whistle. Terrific bedlinens and comfy bed. Breakfast was a bit of a disaster... some rubbish about printer not working so waited 40 mins and couple beside me served first.... and...

The room was small and it was expected, but very well organised. Staff were nice and the location, excellent. A breakfast included option needs to be provided in the price, and in advance and bookable before you arrive, I think they have missed a trick there, as there are many options to eat nearby, and cheaper.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
