Stayed for one night for meeting in the morning. Check-in was smooth as I am an Accor hotel member. Room was spacious but showed definite signs of ageing and needs of urgent renovations. The fridge in my room was very noisy......Locationwise was perfect as it is situated right in the middle of CBD and next to China Town. My room... More

This is my second stay at the Swanston Hotel and I stay here purely for convenience when I'm seeing a show or want to do some shopping as it's close to everything. As I stayed here with a group of females we booked the twin rooms on the 5th floor. Whilst there is no noise from the other rooms we... More

Perfect location in Melbourne to walk to lots of CBD restaurants and activities. Rooms were nice, nothing amazing but definitely nice enough for a base. Staff were very friendly. Would skip the buffet breakfast next time and go to a cafe as the restaurant wasn't very nice. Food was nice but equivalent to a $25 buffet I guess.

4.5 stars as claimed is highly misleading, closer to 3. Dated rooms and hallways in desperate need of a modern upgrade. What is it about Accor and neglecting their properties? They do it really well. Carpet smelt like old rice and there was unsanitary build up of dust on the window frame and inside the cupboard next to the safe.... More

I stayed here for two nights. Fantastic location right in the middle of everything. Good value and polite and friendly service. My bathroom had been renovated, and was very nice, but the rest of the room was a bit dated, inc carpet. I would stay again as it is fantastic value.

We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel and found it great value for money and perfectly located for a Melbourne weekend getaway. We booked 2 interconnecting rooms for myself, husband and 2 x teenage daughters. Both rooms were spacious and clean. The bathrooms were functional, perhaps just a little shabby. Staff were friendly, service was good. Overall, the main... More

We really enjoyed our stay and the location of this hotel. Unfortunately even though we were on the 13th floor we could still hear a lot of outside noise. Enough noise that it woke us up a couple of times. Another disappointing part was the luggage storage area. We used this prior to our room bring ready and had to... More

We have been staying at this Hotel for over 10 years, with each visit ranging from 7 to 10 days. the last two stays we have had an Executive Suite. Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
