Staff very friendly and helpful. So many amazing restaurants and bars on the doorstep. Incredible desserts and cocktails at the restaurant. Bit disappointed with the room- we had the Flinders King, the shower was small and not very good- temperature inconsistent and not powerful. Decor looking a bit tired. Beds very comfy though, but bear in mind you are right...

Had a great stay here for a 50th birthday in Mon Bijou. Have to say that the welcome from reception staff and room service was excellent. Service from the restaurant staff however was extremely disappointing on both days. Speed of service and attitude from staff was incredibly disappointing. Overall though would recommend it and stay here again.

We stayed at The Adelphi for our honeymoon and it could not have been better. The attention to detail and the professionalism of the staff were second to none. The room itself was gorgeous with wonderful furnishings, a huge comfy bed, and the famous free mini-bar! We ate at Om Nom on the first night and the food and cocktails,...

Loved this hotel, a real treasure. Rooms were large and everything in them was included in the price (including snacks and soft drinks). Room was also equipped with a coffee making machine and an ipod dock. Desserts in the restaurant are to die for!

A lovely hotel in a fabulous location. The room was light and spacious. Very friendly and professional staff. The Om Nom restaurant attached to the hotel was also excellent. Overall, highly recommended.

I'm from Melbourne and have stayed (usually on special occasions) in various hotels dotted around the CBD. This was the first stay at Adelphi and I was very impressed! Situated in Flinders Lane (pretty much the centre of the city), the small boutique hotel boasts a staff of very motivated and service orientated people who are happy to go out...

Great position and service on Flinders Lane right near the major galleries and restaurants. The decor is a little tired and the pool could be heated though. Very quiet despite its central position. Perfect for a short getaway.

From Check In to Check Out a great experience. I arrived early 10.00am and my room was ready as I needed to be at a function by 1.00pm. Melbourne was very hot and on entering the room the air conditioning was on and the room very cool. On returning later that evening the Bar was open for a night cap....

Adelphi Hotel is a very cosy little botique hotel situated in the middle of everything, but still protected from the noices of the city. I enjoyed the decor and the fact it's different from the more corporate hotels I normally stay in. And I felt spoiled by the freebees offered and the personal touch. And do try the desserts from...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
